Has anybody got any recommendations on anime I could watch? I've mostly been watching Shonen and I'm trying to branch out a little. Any suggestions are much appreciated!
Hi Fragrant-Sale5401, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!
The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

Just a few recommendations of different genres that I think are great starting points:
Philosophical:
* Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (historical fiction)
* Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (adventure)
* Takopi's Original Sin (focuses on trauma)
Slice of Life:
* Yuru Camp (about camping and friendship)
* Sakura Quest (small town life and about passion)
Coming of Age:
* A Place Further Than the Universe
* Mob Psycho 100
Romance:
* Insomniacs After School (more traditional school setting romance)
* Kaguya-sama: Love is War (romcom)
* Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines (romance parody)
* The Quintessential Quintuplets (if you want to dabble into harem lol)

Psychological/Thriller:
* Puella Magi Madoka Magica
* Terror in Resonance
* Monster
Mystery:
* Moriarty the Patriot (if you like Sherlock Holmes, this is perfect)
* Summer Time Rendering
* ODDTAXI
Fantasy:
* The Witch and the Beast
* Lord of Mysteries
Isekai:
* Re:Zero (more of a traditional isekai; pretty good starting point to the genre)
* The Eminence in Shadow (isekai parody)
* Saga of Tanya the Evil
One-Knowledge-70722026-01-12 00:17
Comedy:
* Nichijou (more episodic, traditional anime comedy show)
* Spy x Family
* The Disastrous Life of Saiki K
* Gintama (gold)
Music:
* Bocchi the Rock
* Vivy -Flourite Eye's Song-
* Love Live! School Idol Project (experiment to see if you may be interested in idol anime)
Sports:
* Haikyuu (volleyball)
* Umamusume: Cinderella Gray
* Run with the Wind
Action (that aren't mainstream shounen):
* Black Lagoon
* Zom 100
I'm not that familiar with a lot of horror anime, so not sure if I should be posting recommendations for that haha. I would say that Junji Ito's works are amazing, but I've only read them and heard the anime adaptations are not that good.
Hope there is something on this list that you find interesting :)!
