I watched the wrong Higuarshi, what now?

Crunchyroll only has the 2020 version, but everyone says watch the 2006 version. I found a streaming site for it since I have no other way to watch it in my country. After finishing the entirety of what the site called 2006, I discovered it was actually the 2020 episodes mislabelled as 2006.

So what now? Throughout 2020 it was referncing the MC's background and the golden timeline but I assumed it was going to do some non linear story (partially true ig) and backtrack to it. Safe to say that's actually just the 2006 show's plot? Is it worth watching 2006 season 2 (kai?) or don't bother? I went onto CR and confirmed I just finished gou ep 24

Lol RIP, the 2020 show is actually a sequel, so yeah if you want to watch more of this then watch the 2006 show.

You could still watch the 2006 show, its really good on its own. No idea about sotsu, didnt watch that.

The original 2006 anime and its second season Kai is worth watching despite Gou rehashing its story arcs with twists. You could also check out the original visual novels or its manga adaptation for more details

There's enough mystery elements that it should still be plenty enjoyable to watch through, but that is a pretty big oof

Also Sotsu considered to be quite bad, but it's also the conclusion of Gou so it's probably worth watching for that? Might be worth skipping the first few episodes though, the rehashes of the first two Gou arcs that Sotsu does add, in my opinion, absolutely nothing worth spending the time even watching. But I'd also more or less pieced together what had happened in them already, the problem was that the Sotsu versions were basically exactly what I predicted.

The point of higurashi is that you don’t know what is going on and then you gradually get the info in Kai. That’s a pretty big screw up lol but it’s still worth watching imo. Especially when you liked Gou, the 2006 version is miles ahead

Daamn, u fucked up, the original higurashi season were so good. The music the vibes the story... I feel like watching it from the start could be worth it. You could also skip like 10 episodes of the first season and start watching from there, since u know the character already.

The 2006 anime is way better
