Could use some new recommendations

Obsucure titles?

Looking for some anime that isn't plastered on every what to watch post. Looking for something with more than 1 season or at least with a full story tired of starting an anime finishing the first season and then finding out it probably or won't even get a second season. Some anime I like are,

Gangsta (jail whoever cancelled it)
7 seeds,
Dr stone (though it can be childish)
Dorohedoro,
Megalobox,
Grimgar,
SAO (say what you want)
Kaiji,
Kenichi

Kinda all over but I don't have too much preference just nothing super childish

Hi Sufficient-Try3262, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

Didn’t gangstas manga author have a health crisis ?

Sufficient-Try32622026-01-11 02:43

Not sure but if so was there no more source material never read it

Illya-Impregnator2026-01-11 02:41

Kaiji : gambling anime, super suspenseful and its quite unpredictable. Unique artstyle one quickly adjust to.

Shiki : Vampire anime, one of the most frustrating animes in a good way.

Sufficient-Try32622026-01-11 02:44

Kaijis on the list but I'll check out shiki

lztsrts2026-01-11 02:44

>at least with a full story

I can't really think of anything that would get a full adaptation and still be considered "obscure". How would you define that?

Sufficient-Try32622026-01-11 02:49

I did in the first sentence

lztsrts2026-01-11 02:50

Overlord

the-big-dingo2026-01-11 02:51

Is there a reason you’re against watching the more popular animes ?

Sufficient-Try32622026-01-11 03:00

I've seen most of what usually gets recommended just didn't want people to repeat what everyones said and there's no way I could put a whole list

the-big-dingo2026-01-11 03:01

May I suggest myanimelist fill it out and then link it in these sort of threads .

Sufficient-Try32622026-01-11 03:11

Would even help me I don't even remember most titles after I watch them lmao should consider doing it

MusubiKazesaru2026-01-11 03:28

Somewhere on the internet I assume. I don't think it was ever licensed.

BurningFence2026-01-11 03:52

Hello, fellow Grimgar enjoyer. The only obscure anime I can think of is record of grancrest War. It's one season, but the story is finished.

babassu_seeds2026-01-11 03:58

Not obscure at all, but if you haven't seen Welcome to the NHK, Rainbow, or xxxholic, I'd rec them P.S. Gangsta is an anime tragedy--the studio went bankrupt, and the creator has lupus and is now blind in one eye, so progress is not expected. I love that anime fervently

Holiday_Garden_3012026-01-12 11:54

Not obscure at all but i had to recommend Samurai Champloo if you haven't watched it
