Help me find some political anime where the mc owns a city/country and has to defend it

This type of anime (does it have a name?) has been a surprising enjoyment for me.

The ones I've already seen are

How a realist hero rebuilt the kingdom

As a reincarnated aristocrat

Hi BurningFence, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

Thank you for the suggestions

No problem, the "nation building" aspect is one of my favorite parts of both of those.

Look up "Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord" it's a new seasonal that seems to fit the bill, started this past week, doesn't seem to be as bad as the name implies. Nowhere near as good as the other two i mentioned though.

I saw the episode to that. But I didn't want to include it here since it was too early to tell. Even with the title.

Fair enough.

Tsukimichi kinda fits the pre-reqs. He's building a place for "demi humans". This one's actually pretty good.

Okay, I hate myself. I don't know how i forgot about this one. Might need to rewatch it

The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt

This looks like the twin of realist hero. I'll give it a watch.

HuTaosTwinTails2026-01-11 04:54

I like it more than realist hero. But yeah, they came out at the same time.

The [Utawarerumono](https://myanimelist.net/anime/856/Utawarerumono) trilogy. The first one has the main character defend the village that adopted him from invaders and grow it into a country. The second anime is not that but a setup to the third and final one that has a lot of war.
