I am almost through the first season of Konosuba and….

So, every time I see Konosuba brought up here, it’s kinda in a cringe/overly horny vibe because of the MC. But, what I am wonder is where is that?

I mean, don’t get me wrong, the knight and mage are pretty horny, and the goddess doesn’t seem to wear underwear? but I mean, they’re all kind of idiots. I don’t see the trashy and overly pervy MC. I mean, the succubus episode was a bit pervy but like, they’re all just idiots? The show doesn’t seem too extra compared to other shows.

That's totally not true at all, by the way. It's a stupid joke that some people somehow have taken seriously. Both the text and art of the original novel explicitly show that Aqua wears underwear. It's just the anime making it ambiguous for butt fanservice.

I don't dislike it, but at the same time it's not my favorite type of humor.

I preferred "Isekai Ojisan's" execution of the Isekai parody. It gave its hero an additional theme and recurring joke (Sega loser) that makes me forget that it even has an isekai premise in the first place.

Kazuma is a bit of an icon because whilst he is indeed horny he's also the 'straight man' for the shows humor. He's often the voice of reason among the cast. Part of the humor comes from the idea that the most reasonable intelligent person in the room is *this guy*. And he does have moments where he does demonstrate that he's an absolute degenerate, it's just that he also happens to be a good guy and his core.

The first OVA (listed as episode 11 on places like Crunchyroll) has Kazuma act like a complete hornball scumbag, far above anything you see in the rest of the series. It's not even canon, but it probably did color some people's perception of the character.

I mean, to be fair, there is a fair amount of borderline/sketchy stuff throughout the series. Everyone has a line that they draw somewhere, and I'm not going to get mad at anyone if they thought the panty stealing or succubus episode was too far for them. But there's never anything nearly as bad as the OVA before or after.

yeah i have heard a lot of knosuba as one of the best isekai ecchi...and still i have tried to watch it and i dont see a big deal...is very childish to me...the ecchi part is very soft.
