I’m looking for recommendations pls!

So I’m fairly new to anime so I knew virtually nothing about the world and have only watched ones that were recommended to me. I recently watched the apothecary diaries and I am In love! Im looking for things similar (I’ve also already watched the ravens consort since I feel like I’ll get that rec a lot).

Here’s what I liked about it if it helps for recommendations:

I love the setting and aspects of culture that pop in. I like that it’s realistic, I’m not a huge fan of supernatural stuff but I can tolerate it. The romance plot was peak for me, definitely kept me engaged. I love that maomao is independent intelligent and well versed in medicine

If you want something a long the lines of The Apothecary Diaries, I would suggest Inuyasha and Ouran High School Host Club. Both have romance laced in comedy and heartfelt moments.

Horimiya. Super wholesome slice of life. Like most romance anime, you don't get a lot of actual on screen affection. More so implied and vocalized. This generally agitates me, but its so well done I was able to overlook it.

Tbh there are quiet a few romance sol nowadays better than horimiya

The amount of cuts it had was crazy and with the release of missing pieces it felt all over the place , regardless that it's still one of my favs in the genre but not the favourite

Yeah, the romance anime I like the most is rare. Most romance anime is just a build up to confession and blech its over and you don't get to see them be a couple. You read 1-00 plus chapters of manga or watched 12-36 episodes of anime and they never held hands on a date, just a time skip to a wedding you dont even see.

Yona of the dawn (although its not finished and it will probably never get finished)
7th time loop, this one is more magical but i think a lot of what makes apothecary diaries so good is the girls being strong and smart so i get the same vibes from these 2.

How was ravern of the inner palace, actually I have recently watched apothecary diaries as well and struggle to find anything similar

Violet evergarden (It's really good, trust me i watched it just for Kyoto studios animation and it was mind blowing)

Kaguya sama love is war (romance,comedy,slice of life)

Vinland saga (Deep character development,also extremely good writing if i say anything else it'll be spoilers)

Not really

Each of the seasons provide more character development S3 ending was amazing comparivevly to the progress in s1

But what keeps it interesting imo is the comedy (depends on this factor ig if you like the comedy)

With the release of the two latest specials kaguya sama became #1 on my romcom list

It is like a romcom with no resolve, and after some time it just gets tirering. The percentage dropping the series after the start of season two is also pretty high ;)

raven of the inner palace was good. it’s not something i would personally write home to but it’s worth the watch. my only complains are that i don’t really like the ghost aspects of it and i wish it were a little deeper. the only plot you follow is ravens, the other side plots are only one episode long. it has some really nice twists tho
