New age for animation quality
I think its safe to say we are in a new age for anime, and for animation in general, its like ever since spider-verse , animation quality skyrocketed into unprecedented ways
I had to make this post because i watched 3 episodes of 3 different anime, and they all had such insane animation it made me stand up in my seat every minute, i think thats also a key factor in my amazement, in the past , good animation was saved for fights, but now everything is fluid, someone just gesticulating could be animated with more frames than a fight in the past, im not here to bash on old anime btw, they also used to have amazing animation with the technology they had available, hell some fights in og naruto are still very much viable today, but new anime have a consistency to the animation that i have to admire
The anime that i saw that made me write this post are sentenced to be a hero , fate fake and Trigun Stargaze and they all had such different styles to them but every one had passion put into its animation and it was observable.
i think its the fact that technology has finally reached a point where CGI is used perfectly to enhance animation and i think we have to thank studios like studio Orange, Mappa and Ufotable for pushing the boundaries of CGI's capabilities for a while now.
Anyways, im happy, i love that i live in a universe where so many quality animations come out one after another, its exciting, and amazing.

Minor nitpick being some of these shows take the animation too far and make the fights too overstimulating and a visual mess, though that's probably more of a direction issue ig.
Mention the idols you coward. Give Sunrise their credit.
There are some modern shows that do have impressive background art like Made in Abyss, Dorohedoro but there are also a plethora that arent anything special.
Even outside volume, plenty of anime from the late-2000s look just as good, if not better than a lot of modern shows. The assertion that animation quality “skyrocketed” after *Spider-verse* as if it raised some bar is just patently false.
it just doesn't mean all shows change, or all scenes in all shows.
