It's the first time I've fealt comfortable recommending an anime to people who just like normal fantasy like LOTR, GOT or Wheel of Time. It's great for kids, and contains really powerful adult themes that they're parents can enjoy, and they can pick up on when they return to it as young adults. It's anime to it's core, but dodges so many of the pitfalls and offputting tropes of typical anime.
This is now my go to recommendation for a first anime to watch. It's insane how quickly that took place. I think I could tell that's what I was watching by the 6th or 7th episode of season 1.

I'm slightly worried about Methode being in this season. There are concerning things regarding her character in the previous season.
[S1 spoilers, just in case] >!Methode encountered the Fern clone and looks like she had a very harrowing battle with it before all of the clones were deleted. That on top of the fact that she is shown to be a part of the only group in the first round shown to have potentially killed other mages to obtain the bird. (Her group is shown walking away from three defeated bodies towards the end of E21 and she has her staff out.) It makes me wonder if there's a possibility that she might see Fern as a danger/threat and may attempt to deal with said threat before it becomes a real issue. Why is she the only one of the shown in this trailer from that arc with no Sein being shown? What purpose does she have being involved with our crew beyond that arc if not a potential love interest for Sein? It's probably nothing, but I choose to be wary of her.!<

Seriously, Methode is an absolute beast and a jack of all trades at the same time. Unlike Frieren whi can only diagnose, Methode can actually heal, on top of all the other stuff she is capable of (including incredible mana detection). I was shocked that some people were surprised when Serie passed her too. Guys she actually beat clone Fern, only reason she didn't kill her there and only immobilised her was because she didn't want her to respawn somewhere else and attack another group.

Should have taken another few years and adapted the golden arc too. I would just sit out and watch it alongside s3 if it ever comes out and the quality remains the same.
El Dorado is too long to be covered in a single movie, unless it's like 3 hours long. Man, I really don't want to wait 2-3 more years for El Dorado.

[S1 spoilers, just in case] >!Methode encountered the Fern clone and looks like she had a very harrowing battle with it before all of the clones were deleted. That on top of the fact that she is shown to be a part of the only group in the first round shown to have potentially killed other mages to obtain the bird. (Her group is shown walking away from three defeated bodies towards the end of E21 and she has her staff out.) It makes me wonder if there's a possibility that she might see Fern as a danger/threat and may attempt to deal with said threat before it becomes a real issue. Why is she the only one of the shown in this trailer from that arc with no Sein being shown? What purpose does she have being involved with our crew beyond that arc if not a potential love interest for Sein? It's probably nothing, but I choose to be wary of her.!<
plus in the manga they made it clear that methode knew the fern clone was behind her because she smiled (while the anime cuts away for tension) she is also not disheveled after the battle implying she won
i think the anime might have been downplaying how strong she is
