Makoto Takatsuki is a normal high school student and a hardcore RPG player. However, “normal” goes out the window when his whole class is involved in a bus crash and whisked away to another world! Powerful gods rule this strange new land of magic and monsters, and every newcomer is blessed with strong stats and unique skills. Well, not quite. Makoto’s stats turn out to be pathetic, and his skills are super weak compared to his classmates’...he’s even stuck as an apprentice mage. Worse still, he’s given only ten years to live! Luckily, Makoto soon meets a minor goddess named Noah, who appears in Makoto’s dreams and asks him to become her first believer. With the help of Noah's blessings and a divine weapon, Makoto seeks to become strong enough to rescue his goddess from the dungeon where she’s been trapped. By training hard and using his weak skills in unorthodox ways, Makoto proves that, even when playing on hardcore difficulty, an RPG player always makes it to the end! budget konosuba?
but then again isekai has never stopped selling for well over a generation by now
lost_kaineruver42026-01-11 12:38
The LN has a far different tone to be honest. Not to mention Makoto and Kazuma are far different.
AKATSUKIvsAYANOKOJI2026-01-11 12:45
Yeah the synopsis is kind of misleading as it is true for the early volumes but the style of the story changes after the beginning arcs
zairaner2026-01-11 13:06
budget kamikatsu you mean
Tomorrow_Big2026-01-11 14:30
> bus crash
This is unacceptable. How will Truck-kun care for their family without a job?
Purposelygentle2026-01-11 15:22
Cut to a scene from last night of Truck-kun cutting the brakes of the Bus.
Kadmos12026-01-11 16:44
Where did you hear that Truck-kun has a family? I thought Truck-kun was single and without offspring.
Tomorrow_Big2026-01-11 17:16
Pretty sure Toy Truck-kun of Puniru Season 2 fame is Truck-kun's baby offspring.
OrionRBR2026-01-11 23:14
Bro that *is* his family, its clearly his cousin joining the family business
kalirion2026-01-12 00:39
The bus crash was with Truck-kun?
qwertyqwerty45672026-01-11 12:40
Kamikatsu season 2?
MusubiKazesaru2026-01-11 12:41
I wish. I read like one volume of this one and it's decent, but I didn't feel the need to continue.
Superior_Mirage2026-01-11 12:45
Nothing quite as confusing as an isekai title that literally describes a different series.
Viktorv222026-01-11 15:57
My neurons reacted to this, please don't do that again
kwokinator2026-01-11 17:40
The world is not ready for more Tractor-kun.
NeoAnkara2026-01-11 12:55
Now we are talking. I had fun back then reading it on its peak popularity. I don't know how much different WN is with LN. Too bad it probably won't reach the absurd serial escalation later in the series.
AKATSUKIvsAYANOKOJI2026-01-11 13:07
Yup, Reigokai TLs was just GOATed! The comments there as well!
BaitoDesuFate2026-01-11 19:26
I read in JP so take with a grain of salt, but personally I felt the LN was similar to the point that when I checked the TLs a few times in between it really was pretty much the exact same dialogue many times, I think the major difference is an additional arc or mini arc and some epilogues at each volume that most time is kinda side-storyish and probably going to be skipped besides a few ones.
wesimar142026-01-11 20:46
There’s not much difference. Biggest difference I noticed was an inclusion of original side stories at the end of each LN volume.
Emergency-Boat2026-01-11 12:56
Nice, it's nothing too special but still enjoyable in it's own right
ZeRandomPerson22222026-01-11 13:07
Now that’s a name I haven’t thought about in aaaages. I honestly forget what point I last left off at in the novel. May have to go back and just start reading from the beginning again.
It’s actually quite enjoyable and I’m looking forward to this.
PendragonDaGreat2026-01-11 21:31
Bro literally same.
With a semi-competent team it should be good "popcorn trash"
It's nothing groundbreaking but it's nothing awful either.
RyouBestGirl2026-01-11 13:11
Another mid isekai slop 😐
biscuitboyisaac212026-01-11 13:27
This one is actually surprisingly good. Surprised it took so long to get a anime tbh. Only issue is if 12-13 episodes is gonna be enough of it to get to the juicy bits. I don’t remember tbh
aobaka2026-01-11 13:53
You all always say that then it's just yet another isekai slop.
Blub-fish2026-01-11 14:22
The WN has some really enjoyable arc in the later parts of the story but it depends if they adapt enough of it. Don’t know if the ln has some big differences to the WN but if it keeps the same premise it should be pretty enjoyable.
biscuitboyisaac212026-01-11 21:36
Part of it is some stuff only gets really interesting later then the adaptation since that’s only the early part. For example I haven’t read of Ln but the web novel is around 4.5 million characters. Or 50~ hours of reading. A single season is gonna cover 10% if that. But personally for me I’ve never been more excited for a isekai with a male lead to come out. Maybe it’s because I haven’t read in it a long time and I wouldn’t be as interested if it was more recent and it’s actually total slop idk but I personally think it’ll be good. What you do with that is up to you though
AKATSUKIvsAYANOKOJI2026-01-11 13:58
12-13 episodes are definitely not gonna get to the actually very enjoyable parts, there are some good moments as well, but the actual peak of this series? If they have decent pacing (3 or 4 vols per season), we'll get to them around s2's end or s3 provided they at happen
biscuitboyisaac212026-01-11 21:44
Yeah that’s kinda what I’m afraid of with adaptions like this. Also afraid of it with roll over and die that is this season. I’m not sure if that one is gonna get to the really juicy parts. But tbh with this one I don’t even remember where the very enjoyable parts are. I basically forgot the whole story besides the last arc and it took me like 5 minutes to even remember the mc’s main power and I don’t remember his combat skills
DisIsMarcoBoi2026-01-11 13:21
Seriously??? I just finished reading the web novel just last month.
Guys, this shit is good. I recommend this as an Arifureta reader (it has nothing to do with Arifureta, but you'd enjoy it if you did watch or read Arifureta.)
Toloran2026-01-11 15:58
This is one of the few series that actually have read the WN all the way through. The series isn't *amazing*, but it's still very good. Typical power scaling weirdness later on, but they generally keep the MC's weakness/problems relevant for the whole series (or give him new problems).
comelickmyarmpits2026-01-11 14:20
Great, finished ln year ago , it's very good series (unlike banish party slop we get now a days)
Thanatofobia2026-01-11 14:21
Crazy, i'm used to seeing manga i read become anime, but this is the first time a manga i was going to start reading in a few days become an anime.
Seems i have the same tastes as the average Japanese isekai enjoyer LOL
*^((don't take this comment to seriously, i just thought it was funny to see a manga i)* ^(just) *^(added to my read list get an anime))*

Ngl the plot may sound generic af but as the story goes on it really becomes something else.
randomran142026-01-11 15:23
I was wondering when this would get an anime, considering some of the other slop that we see nowadays whereas this one is... half-decent (been following the translated version for years). Its isekai but nowhere near as bad as some others. I do hope they can skip to the better parts later on though.
Shizzi2026-01-11 16:36
I freaking KNEW IT im still waiting for the last VOL but i had a feeling this one would get an anime
legocraftmation2026-01-11 16:52
Finally, I have wanted an anime of this series for awhile
XmasMancer2026-01-11 17:10
I enjoyed the LN. Looking forward to this one!
Xatu442026-01-11 19:18
I used to read the manga for this. Nothing particularly special.
BaitoDesuFate2026-01-11 19:38
Compared to all the isekai that are not the big ones like Konosuba, Re:Zero and Mushoku, this one of the few that I actually enjoyed and fits in the category of 'generic' isekai in a way, at least for me basically all Isekai that release are worth doing a season or two at best and it just loses it novelty, this one is really fun from beginning to end, and while I can't exactly pinpoint why this series feels more special to me one of the reasons surely is the protagonist, not like he gets amazing development or anything but he's definitely weird in a way that I don't see often. Unfortunately like many series this one probably going to suffer from the first volumes being on the weaker side.
AutMcD2026-01-12 12:32
Light novel was absolutely amazing. Excited to see where this goes
