Recommend an anime where the MC isn't the chosen one.
Somethings similar to Naruto or One Piece, where the MC's goal is to be the best at something but he isn't chosen one or special. Something that comes to my mind that fits it is Haikyuu.

I've already read the manga. Although he's not the chosen one by birth, he does become that in the first episode.

"but" definition : used to introduce a phrase or clause contrasting with what has already been mentioned.
For example, I gave Haikyuu.

Currently watching it, on episode 4. Good to know Gon isn't a chosen one. I'm so used to shonen MC's being the chosen one that I just assumed beforehand that Gon is probably one.

Cyberpunk is a good one, but I'm hoping for something more wholesome, like the main character succeeds in achieving their goal.

It's mainly a shonen thing I think, where the MC is the chosen one. That's why I really want to watch something where the MC is generic "I wanna be the [insert goal]" type character, but achieve through sheer efforts.

Oh so an isekai vibe, one that's really good for that is how a realist hero rebuilt the kingdom. His special hero power is mostly used for doing paperwork and reading while talking to people. He himself is just a dude with a college education. It's pretty good

The mangaka retconned Naruto into being the chosen one at the end (Or had it planned all along), so Naruto is not an example of "not chosen one".
His monicker in the anime community is "anime Jesus" after all. And I found a thread where they argue he is instead either Buddha or Asura.
