[*In the professional world, they're callsigns.*](https://i.imgur.com/pPTwPqb.jpeg)

[This was just a ploy to make Sero their godfather.](https://i.imgur.com/ynXPfJ7.jpeg)

ObvsThrowaway51202026-01-11 16:34

Hey man, Comet and Supernova are awesome nicknames lol.

It’s kind of nice to see the gang outside of work. Like sure they torture and interrogate people, but they like to cut loose too.

melindypants2026-01-12 18:24

If it continues on the theme for the nicknames, I wonder what they'll give to the other 2 - maybe Sun (bright personality) & Meteor (since they can contain water)?

Lulukassu2026-01-14 03:26

Waterfall, since he's so tall, uses a lot of water and often breaks bones.

melindypants2026-01-14 10:47

That'd be good! I do feel like there's a space theme though

diacewrb2026-01-11 17:38

For Mike-chan and Hugh, this is the opposite of working for a black company. They have a flexible schedule, colleagues who support and train them up, they are allowed to be creative and they actually enjoy hanging out with each other out of work.

In a world where torture is legal, we shouldn't be surprised when cat plushes have guns and cigarettes.

Emi_Ibarazakiii2026-01-11 22:49

> They have a flexible schedule

The *only* thing I thought was against them, was getting a call to 'be there in 5 minutes' (big red flag hah) but it wasn't job related, so it's all good!

Great workplace environment, would totally apply there!

Ashteron2026-01-11 18:14

Honestly, it's not a healthy workplace. All of this tobacco smoke is deleterious.

NanDemoKnaives2026-01-11 18:19

Sero being an affectionate drunk was a surprise, I thought there'd be more a twist he's quite affectionate normally. The biggest surprise is that he's that affectionate with Siu when drunk. I like that Siu was complaining about how much it was a pain to go drinking with Sero alone but he still went anyways, such a tsundere.

It was sweet how the twins warmed up to Sero straight away, they've got themselves an uncle who'll play with them weekly it seems.

Emi_Ibarazakiii2026-01-11 22:51

> The biggest surprise is that he's that affectionate with Siu when drunk

The biggest surprise for me was Siu's little smile!

[](#delighted)

As you said, a real tsundere!

>It was sweet how the twins warmed up to Sero straight away, they've got themselves an uncle who'll play with them weekly it seems.

That was cute! (I only hope there's no "bring your kids to work" day!)

Megadragon8982026-01-11 18:55

Honestly theirs is a much better and healthier workplace than some jobs lol. This is such a cute anime, honestly it’s funny how despite the bloody work outside of work hours they are just really normal people and really close friends. Hope we see more of Shiu daughters they're are adorable.

Lulukassu2026-01-14 03:25

I mean it's not bloody for Hughe 🤭

ElliotAlderson20242026-01-11 20:33

This makes being a part time torturer an appealing job choice.

dakkumauji2026-01-11 21:24

Such an unrealistic workplace comedy since this workplace is surprisingly wholesome outside the whole torture thing.

Lulukassu2026-01-14 03:24

I noticed how naturally workaholism seems to come to all of them though 😅

SquirrelFickle71632026-01-11 21:39

So funny I love sero and mike

Emi_Ibarazakiii2026-01-11 22:45

[Damn, he mellowed out over the years!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/25f2725723c1.png)

Must feel unfair to Sero, he got the 'rough treatment' but the new guys have it easy!

[True that!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/50d1593cb776.png)

(I know that from my years of a experience as a pro torturer!)

[](#evilgrin)

But joking aside, I can see how telling someone "Alright, you're off the hook", right before torturing them some more, could work; When you tell them it's over, they enter a new state of mind and all, but then it comes again...

[Would you pass the first day?](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/7452b95a27da.png)

[](#ama)

[Damn, you're on the call!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/3e87282a5e3e.png)

I was about to say, it's a good enough workplace environment, friendly people and all... But having your boss/superior call you to 'get there in 5 minutes', that's a strike!

[Oh damn. Are they the next victims?](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/d6f8675cf9ce.png)

[](#flustered)

Or are they the next torturers?

[](#flustered)

Ahhhh, his daughters!

[Leu is best daughter right away, because boardsgames are awesome and carrots are good.](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/685f31e1c364.png)

[Probably shouldn't hit someone in front of your daughters! Bad example!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/d05d9cb45c0e.png)

[Probably shouldn't swear either!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/757c01b6e2bd.png)

[N-Not murdered by you, hopefully?](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/eb318323e55d.png)

[](#spooked)

We already knew the whole torture stuff was legal, [but I didn't think it was "Torture courses offered at school" legal!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/bf7f549dc571.png)

(Is it weird that I thought "Damn, would be a nice place to meet unhinged girls!"? ...Yes, it's weird. I'm sowwy!)

[Hah. Cute.. I guess?](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/3551c592c71c.png)

They said "It can be used for something else" so I imagine watering plants and stuff, but imagine using torture tools for your everyday stuff hah.

HTC8642026-01-11 22:54

It's kind of crazy to me how many people seemed not to like this one. It's a pretty typical adult SOL show set in an "office".

melindypants2026-01-12 18:27

It is fairly average to me with a pretty wild premise but it is always fun to have an adult cast. I do think this would've worked better in a shorter episode format

JamesSomdet2026-01-12 02:11

God, this is such a kinky, SEXY anime

Dull_Spot_82132026-01-12 02:50

This is its strongest trait. Don’t fail us, showrunners.

Dull_Spot_82132026-01-12 02:48

Well, nomikai scene was fun. I like drunk Sero. He just like me.

testthrowawayzz2026-01-12 05:58

Sero got PTSD from Siu’s training

aegirsson_jolan2026-01-13 00:13

I probably lack perspective, distance, I'm too literal, but the "setting" is torture for an office comedy, there, I admit, for me, it's a problem, it's a block, it just doesn't work...
