I really like this season "Journal with witch" anime, what other shows have this sort of guardian with kid vibe?

I know it's only out for 2 episodes so far but I really like this, the character design are beautiful, the emotions of people feel real.

I've already watched usagi drop which has this guardian and kid vibe, and also it's only my feeling but march comes in like a lion gave me the same vibe.

I haven’t watched Journal yet but if you want wholesome stuff about adventurers looking out for kids you could try:

- Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside

- The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash

- The Demon King's Daughter is Too Kind!!

The animation isn’t top notch but the stories are very sweet if not heartbreaking at times.

IMO Barakamon and Hinamatsuri are the best shows in this space, though they skew more towards the comedic side.

You could also try Kakushigoto and Deaimon.

I think the through line between all of these is emotional maturity. I think that's what draws people to romance manga/anime as teenagers, but then we age out of it because the stories don't keep up with our emotional development. Anime falls onto the pile of guilty pleasures to watch when we're nostalgic for simpler times, but then you see something like this, and meets you exactly where you are, and you suddenly realize what you've been missing.
