Struggling to find something new...

So I've been watching Anime since I was a kid back in the mid 90s onwards. Starting with all the Manga entertainment stuff, your Pokémon and Digimon etc... and now I'm finally stumped.

I've recently finished MHA and rewatch FMA Brotherhood, I've finished Season one of Dandadan, I've caught up with all the big names and I just can't find anything else I want to watch.

I like stuff where the characters have powers, with good animation and a fun story.

I grew up on Dragonball, YuYu Hakashu, Hunter x Hunter etc... and nothing else is jumping out at me.

So I'm wondering if anybody has any lesser known stuff, preferably available on Netflix or Crunchyroll UK, that I might be sleeping on...

I tried Solo levelling, didn't like it.
Mob Psycho was good fun, Chainsaw Man was amazing... Just need it to be fun, action packed and with crazy fight scenes.

Jujutsu Kaisen, Gachiakuta and Jojo's bizzare Adventure.

Emergency_Fall46392026-01-12 03:53

I'm up to date with Jujutsu kaisen and Gachiakuta, did not like JoJo personally

Emergency_Fall46392026-01-12 03:53

But Jujutsu kaisen new season looks insane so far! That animation is incredible

Bad_Doto_Playa2026-01-12 04:01

Hmm well try Code Geass, Magi, Noragami and Soul Eater.

Emergency_Fall46392026-01-12 04:12

I genuinely want to watch Soul Eater but it's not available in the UK and I don't own a computer so it's difficult to watch it online

One-Knowledge-70722026-01-12 03:46

Hmm maybe Cyberpunk Edgerunners (I think it's still on Netflix - not 100% sure), if you haven't watched it already. A few more that come to mind:

* The Witch and the Beast
* Black Lagoon (no powers, but it sure is action packed - love it)
* Baccano
* Bungo Stray Dogs
* Brave Bang Bravern (it's mecha and goofy)
* Mashle: Magic and Muscles (powers... or lack of haha)
* The Eminence in Shadow (isekai parody, one of my favorites)

... After typing out everything, I just realized a lot of the titles I recommended starts with a 'B' LOL. Hope there is something of interest here!

Also, if you liked MHA, there's a MHA side story that has a season 1 from last year and is currently airing a season 2. It's called My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, if you're interested.

Emergency_Fall46392026-01-12 03:54

I'll have a look! Thanks. I keep meaning to start Vigilantes too!

One-Knowledge-70722026-01-12 04:00

No problem! Heard Vigilantes is really good and it's high on my to watch list too haha.

Oh yeah, I'm currently watching Blood Blockade Battlefront and it has great worldbuilding, interesting powers, and nice action. Not finished with it yet, so can't say if I can wholeheartedly recommend it, but it might also be of interest! It's more episodic rather than single plot focused

fate/zero

Emergency_Fall46392026-01-12 03:54

Is that the first of the Fate series? There's so many I'm confused what order they go in lol

Candid_Ad47612026-01-12 04:19

It depends how much a purist you are in terms of watching a series.

fate/zero is a prequel to everything and is the franchise at it's best. That's why I always recommend it first but purists argue fate/zero was written assuming you already know fate/stay night. So starting fate/zero will automatically answer a lot of the questions of fate/stay night that were seen as mysterious.

A purist route would go something like - fate/stay night 2006 (not really known for top tier animation when comparison to the other fates), unlimited blade works, heavenly feels, fate/zero

**Best if you’re:** patient with confusion, love mystery/slow reveals, care about author intent, want the biggest “reveal” and “tragedy” payoffs.

However, a beginner route would go - fate/zero, fate/stay night unlimited blade works, fate/stay night: heavenly feels

**Best if you’re:** new to Fate, hate confusion, want a strong first hook, care about modern animation, like darker stories.

I've been watching just as long myself and find it hard to find something I haven't watched at this point. I just watched [https://myanimelist.net/anime/56352/Loop\_7-kaime\_no\_Akuyaku\_Reijou\_wa\_Moto\_Tekikoku\_de\_Jiyuu\_Kimama\_na\_Hanayome\_Seikatsu\_wo\_Mankitsu\_suru](https://myanimelist.net/anime/56352/Loop_7-kaime_no_Akuyaku_Reijou_wa_Moto_Tekikoku_de_Jiyuu_Kimama_na_Hanayome_Seikatsu_wo_Mankitsu_suru) and it was decent, hoping for another season.

Emergency_Fall46392026-01-12 03:55

I won't lie, this one doesn't look like my kinda thing, these long titles are hilarious though

Sofaris2026-01-12 08:11

I recommend "Dragon Quest the Adventure of Dai".

Its a Fantasy Battle Shonen with likeable characters, lots of action and it does not take long to get good.

The series has 100 Episodes and no filler at all as far as I could tell.

Here is a Link to the first Opening:

Emergency_Fall46392026-01-12 13:48

Dragon Quest might be a good shout since Toriyama was the original designer for it and I do love Toriyama. I'm still trying to find the Sandland Anime because I loved the Manga

Emergency_Fall46392026-01-12 18:39

I've started this and I'm enjoying it! Reminds me of original Dragonball in tone. Just a lot of fun.

Emergency_Fall46392026-01-16 03:11

Ok, I just saw Dai Vs Baron and it was like a Dragonball Z fight and the animation was crazy! This was a 10/10 suggestion.

Attack on Titan

Emergency_Fall46392026-01-12 13:46

I've already seen that one, if it's a big name there's a good chance I've already seen it. Honestly I found the AOT ending underwhelming personally.

negativedreammachine2026-01-12 13:47

You can watch Prison School

Emergency_Fall46392026-01-12 13:49

What's that one about?

negativedreammachine2026-01-12 13:50

It's about 5 guys in a girls school.
Really funny af. It will definitely give you thriller vibes.
Easily one of the funniest anime I have watched

negativedreammachine2026-01-12 13:50

You can also watch Great Teacher Onizuka
