Howdy! Im looking for something similar to black lagoon and jormungand

If anyone has any recommendations id love to hear them! Be it smugglers or just a traveling business that gets into intense firefights

They just dont make anime like they used to🤌

Traveling and action are the prize 💙

Hi beers_n_bad_habits, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

You might also find our [Recommendation Wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/wiki/recommendations) or [daily thread](/r/anime/search?q=flair%3Adaily&restrict_sr=on&sort=new&t=week) helpful.

Zado1912026-01-12 12:52

Its really only those two. If you've seen both you've seen that sub genre

beers_n_bad_habits2026-01-12 13:04

Yeah I know i was hoping there was a hidden diamond out there i could atleast compare, ah well

ScarRufus2026-01-12 13:06

You can try:

Great Pretender

Gangsta

Baccano

Cowboy Bebop

Gungrave

beers_n_bad_habits2026-01-13 01:09

Great pretender was so good!

Heavy Object. Not exactly "traveling business" (it's the military), but the vibes are similar.

beers_n_bad_habits2026-01-13 01:09

I could FW a bit of military, ill have a look!

Cyberpunk Edgerunners could hit your taste.

If you want a lot of crazy people like Balalaika, Revy or Roberta, maybe Hellsing Ultimate could be a watch Wort, but doesn't fit in the smuggler/Criminal Style

LowraAwry2026-01-13 00:12

I'd add Akudama Drive to the mix, if OP were to try Edgerunners. It pushes the constraints of "similar" a *lot* but it does have criminals, societal commentary and a journey.

beers_n_bad_habits2026-01-13 01:11

Hey im always happy to look up a recommendation at the very least! Thanks 😊

LowraAwry2026-01-13 01:30

*Maybe* Ghost in the shell: Stand alone complex will also suit your taste. The underdogs aren't the protagonists, the police is but it shares some elements. Loosely.

beers_n_bad_habits2026-01-13 01:54

Hahaha champ youve just recommended me my favorite franchise

Great taste homie, I own the movies on blueray!

beers_n_bad_habits2026-01-13 01:10

Watched edgerunners a few times but thanks, I started hellsing a few years ago I really need to go back and try it again
