Hey, they're celebrating the Hell-Lord's favorite anime getting a Season 2!

Wait a minute...

mekerpan2026-01-12 18:42

I wonder what anime that could possibly be? ;-)

diacewrb2026-01-12 20:54

He probably has a soft spot for isekai as well.

Warm-Enthusiasm-95342026-01-12 23:47

*Way of the Househusband*

_Pyxyty2026-01-13 12:01

Wasn't there suppossd to be a second part that should've dropped for this show's season 2? Part 1 dropped in 2023 damn, it's been so long already. Miss it so much

Emi_Ibarazakiii2026-01-12 19:14

[*When they think the title drop isn't enough, and so they have to reference the second season itself in the episode!*](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/37afb3aaa071.png)

_Pyxyty2026-01-13 12:01

Tortura's just so damn fine as usual. Glad this show is back!!!

Emi_Ibarazakiii2026-01-13 12:18

Cutest little torturer!

[](#delighted)

Pristine_Cod51892026-01-12 17:19

The power of ILLIT for Season 2!

_Pyxyty2026-01-13 12:14

Yes!!! Didn't even hear about them making the OP for this show, imagine my freakin' smile when one of my favorite kpop groups popped up out of nowhere to sing the OP for one of my favorite comfy shows!

Super happy they landed an opportunity like this too, they deserve all the success coming to them

ObvsThrowaway51202026-01-12 17:23

We got an s2 cake, happy toast dancing with Ex, the greatest game of basketball to ever grace anime, and princess yet again crumbling at the slightest hint of “torture.” Man, it’s damn nice to have this adorably fluffy anime back.

Looks like we’ll be adding ninja friend to the cast. She’s in for quite a shock when she finds Princess.

Zado1912026-01-12 17:31

Finally the real torture show is out

This-is_CMGRI2026-01-12 18:58

Imagine if we got Iku Sutou on this.

diacewrb2026-01-12 20:49

The Princess would be so screwed if the staff from Spirytus Company got contracted.

This show is probably what you get if you combined The Daily Life of a Part-time Torturer and The Daughter of the Demon Lord Is Too Kind!

ModieOfTheEast2026-01-12 22:52

Nah, the torturers in the other show wouldn't actually be able to get anything out of Hime. Torture and the rest know exactly what they are doing.

Warm-Enthusiasm-95342026-01-12 23:50

I don't think the show ever says this explicitly, but from what we know about Hime this has ot be true. She would definitely shrug off physical pain or threats.

qef152026-01-14 00:37

No pain or real torture would make her flinch even an inch, but give some toast and honey, and she'll collapse in seconds.

Aerodynamic412026-01-12 17:33

Celebrating a S2 in-universe? The self-awareness here is off the charts!

Professional-Bus-7492026-01-12 17:36

Now that's breaking the fourth wall.

cyberscythe2026-01-12 18:50

it's also economical usage of S2 promo trailer footage

[](#hikariactually)

Lodju2026-01-12 17:43

This was probably my most waited sequel of the season so i'm super happy this cute, wholesome and hunger inducing anime is back!

Djbadj2026-01-12 21:16

I beg your finest pardon, a certain demon slaying elf would like to have a word with you

Lodju2026-01-12 21:18

There exists a demon this season i bet even Frieren would not be able to kill.

Djbadj2026-01-13 03:35

I sure hope so. Also you will need to be more specific I can't think of 3 yound demons this season alone ;)

Lodju2026-01-13 06:47

Deux from The Demon King's Daughter Is Too Kind!!

Maomao-chan still tortures humans by being adorable so don't know how Frieren would react to that in her head.

Who is the third one?

Djbadj2026-01-13 17:24

The girl from An Adventurer's Daily Grind at Age 29 was revealed to be a succubus. I hope we don't get another For my daughter I will defeat even the demon lord

committed_to_the_bit2026-01-13 05:36

same boat. my most anticipated show of the entire year given what's been announced so far. and fuck me, they delivered, this was every bit the return to form that I was hoping for.

Torture Mondays are back, baby!

ClashMasterJH2026-01-12 19:27

Goumon Mondays you mean

Rallymodeller2026-01-12 19:47

GouMondays?

bobbymoonshine2026-01-13 19:18

Goumonday no jikan desu

SSjjlex2026-01-12 17:45

THEY DID THE SAME JOKE AGAIN. MY GOATS MADE THE SAME JOKE AGAIN AND ITS STILL FUNNY. HOW DO THEY KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS. I LOVE YOU TORTURE PRINCESS

cyberscythe2026-01-12 19:04

i think the way that they can do literally the same joke again is a testament to the idea that good execution can carry a lot of weight

i think it also works well in this "comfy comedy" format since the repetition and running jokes form a familiar rhythm

kwokinator2026-01-12 20:54

Same idea as Grand Blue Dreaming, they literally reuse the same burning water and oolong tea running jokes over and over again both seasons.

It was still hilarious every single time.

NanDemoKnaives2026-01-12 21:28

Yeah, I was smiling so hard, laughing so hard, the bread asmr hit me so hard too, it was great!

mythriz2026-01-12 22:31

tearing apart that slice of bread was so well animated that even I was ready to confess my secrets lol

Nickbon942026-01-12 17:45

I've missed this so much since the manga ended, I'm so happy I can still get Torture Mondays. Still can't wrap my head around how this is so funny to me, what a blessing

99anan992026-01-12 17:51

Congratulations on Season 2!!

shad792026-01-12 17:54

Damn, it's so good to finally hear [*Hime-sama "Goumon" no Jikan desu*](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/31af178d6589.png) from [Torture](https://imgchest.com/p/bp45oa8nq75) again! I've been waiting for this for two long years, but it's over! [This torture is finally over!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/e627716bf663.png)

As for the episode itself... [I literally grinned throughout the entire episode](https://imgchest.com/p/ljyqknqkny2). I'm so happy that[ Hime and her reactions](https://imgchest.com/p/m9yxnzvdq7q), [Ex](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/46b7969e4a9f.png), the tortures, and everything else, are just as good as they were in the first season.

My favorite torture today was definitely [the one with the candles on the cake](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/ddf7fbc5bc4b.png). [Hime's reaction](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/a9e046ed7469.png) when [Torture forbade her from blowing out the candles](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/38fa47e6e121.png) until she revealed the secret was [priceless](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/99e501b020be.png) xD

Also, [the basketball game](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/29eb78abe446.png) was really fun, and I can't wait for the next episode. It looks like we'll be meeting [Hime's friend](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/15405322d247.png) from [the past;](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/afe8c25b60a4.png) I'm really looking forward to it.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

cyberscythe2026-01-12 18:52

> My favorite torture today was definitely the one with the candles on the cake. Hime's reaction when Torture forbade her from blowing out the candles until she revealed the secret was priceless xD

i loved how they boosted the audio for Torture's "you mustn't" to really put a nail in that iron maiden

DugACCat2026-01-12 18:56

Basketball game was so random and hilarious. Love the demon taking pride in not knowing the rules despite having been on a team before. And maomao’s proud mom with her camcorder. 🤣

cleaulem2026-01-12 18:18

Maomao-chan, FAITO!!!!

secret_tsukasa2026-01-12 18:44

[TORTURA, MY BELOVED!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/6bb3339e04dd.png)

I may have said it a few times since S1 in various thread discussing the series, but it's nice to finally be able to say it for the real thing!

[](#delighted)

[Girls introduced with the sound of clicking heels are always best girl, by law! (Even if they were 'introduced' this way for both seasons!)](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/8d852c432224.png)

[Look how adorable she is!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/bf098a3ab446.png)

[Cuuuuuuute!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/7e2693a52904.png)

(OK I promise to stop gushing over Tortura for 5 minutes)

[Positive self-gaslightning? I wonder if they use that in therapy!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/7cb32b5a26c6.png)

[Tortura singing? Today is a blessed day!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/7c70ae24fd40.png)

(I swear it's been 5 minutes since I wrote these 3 lines!)

But Tortura wasn't the only cute one in this episode;

[This should have been meeeeeeeeeeeee!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/392aa7e4b190.png)

[](#itsnotfair)

[Is this an iconic photo or something?](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/f7e10797d22f.png)

I never followed basketball but when I saw the shot it kinda made me feel like "I've seen this exact shot before"!

But I do follow hockey, [and this line from the commentator seemed fine to me!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/a2ed0517141a.png)

[How is she so CUTE! (The real torture of this show is NOT getting a cutesy romcom spinoff with Tortura!)](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/b902e1981d4f.png)

[She wants to make Maomao an orphan by killing her loving father? TAKE HER OUT!](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/01491193ddbb.png)

[](#panic)

Well, that was fun, as always!

It's the first sequel of the season for me (not counting Kaguya, I think it's technically last season), so it's good to be back!

I did really enjoy that short animated sequence of Torture dancing together with Princess too. I’d sort of forgotten how cute she can be.

Emi_Ibarazakiii2026-01-12 20:18

If I remember correctly they did have a little dance sequence in S1 as well!

But yeah, she's often so cute!

shad792026-01-13 11:39

It was definitely [the best part of the OP](https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/105b5ffe8d56.png), although honestly [the whole OP was full of cute and fun shots](https://imgchest.com/p/a846ovxoo4x).

shad792026-01-13 11:44

I completely agree! Oh, how I wish I could be tortured by [Torture](https://imgchest.com/p/bp45oa8nq75)!

If only I could trade places with [Hime](https://imgchest.com/p/m9yxnzvdq7q), even if just for one [episode](https://imgchest.com/p/ljyqknqkny2)......

CrimsonGear802026-01-12 18:50

I can't believe you would all revel in the sick disgusting torture of this poor girl again!! Get therapy!!

This-is_CMGRI2026-01-12 18:59

nah just get a different princess.

Like Lalatina Dustiness Ford.

kwokinator2026-01-12 20:57

Nah, Divorceness would never yield to the torture. She likes the torture too much, giving up secrets would mean the torture would be over, she can't have that.

PerfectBeige2026-01-12 18:51

I can't believe there was a second season song I should have been singing and I'm just finding out about it now.

cyberscythe2026-01-12 18:56

if we replace it with the happy birthday song, since there are four seasons per year, we will get four times as many cakes

[](#kotourashock)

LeonKevlar2026-01-12 18:56

Can I just say how much I love the new OP? I love that it's basically the entire cast [brainstorming on what the new OP should be](https://i.imgur.com/yvIMiDl.jpeg) and then actually [shooting the music video](https://i.imgur.com/Lih6Tvn.jpeg) complete with [behind the scenes footage of them having fun](https://i.imgur.com/rGvMXgi.jpeg) <3

It's hilarious how [they basically gave Hime temporary amnesia](https://i.imgur.com/xxTcYn2.jpeg) so we can get [the same reactions from her back in Episode 1.](https://i.imgur.com/yL63c2N.jpeg) The first half of the entire episode is so goddamn meta that [they're even celebrating the anime getting a second season!](https://i.imgur.com/nIgXNbw.jpeg)

[Everyone not knowing the rules of basketball [and just playing it by going with the vibes](https://i.imgur.com/tBuj1ch.jpeg) was so damn funny! I love that the only one who's actually trying to play it [is Kanadge, but mostly just to farm aura.](https://i.imgur.com/5DYGel5.jpeg) The dude is posing like [he's from Slam Dunk.](https://i.imgur.com/Op5UCme.jpeg) xD

[That after-credits scene tho!](https://i.imgur.com/2eAcV9k.jpeg) So I guess one of Hime's friends turned into a ninja assassin? I'm gonna guess that she'll end up as the new prisoner next episode.

Man, I am so happy to see this anime back. It has only one joke, but they somehow manage to make it to work and feel fresh with every episode. I already can't wait for next week!

Emi_Ibarazakiii2026-01-12 19:31

> I'm gonna guess that she'll end up as the new prisoner next episode.

Can't wait to see what cruel and inhuman torture they use on her to make Hime talk!

[](#spooked)

Ebirah2026-01-12 20:59

> So I guess one of Hime's friends turned into a ninja assassin?

As well as seeing her friend in the tea-party flashback, we also see her [Hime-sama S1E10]>!backstabbing Hime-sama, and being struck down with Ex for it.!<

So if they should be reunited, things may not go entirely smoothly.

ModieOfTheEast2026-01-12 23:03

The best thing about the Basketball match was for me that they introduce Ex as the expert commentator only for that to be true, because he is the only one to actually know at least a few things about the rules.

Agni7atha2026-01-13 06:35

> I love that the only one who's actually trying to play it is Kanadge, but mostly just to farm aura. The dude is posing like he's from Slam Dunk. xD

He basically doing every basketball anime's staple scene. Just a shame he miss the shot.

saga9992026-01-13 09:42

> The dude is posing like he's from Slam Dunk. xD

For those who don't know, that was an actual quote from the MC of Slam Dunk.

We are so fucking back.

Also, Wizards take notes. It can’t be any worse than the nonsense you’ve been trying.

Syokhan2026-01-12 19:05

I had forgotten how good the production was for such a silly and wholesome little show.

Had a smile on my face the whole time. Also I'm hungry, and also the hell was that basketball game? The hell were those rules?

Well, they all had fun so who cares.

By the way it cracks me up that the Princess has the same voice actress as Alicia from Clevatess, another blonde badass, at least when it comes to physical matters. The way she caught Vanilla-chan was super cool. The way she gives in to torture... less so. What a dork.

Ebirah2026-01-12 19:44

> how good the production was

This episode actually feels a little bit of an upgrade to S1 in this regard? (I'm not complaining, the good shows *should* be the ones getting the nice production.)

Ocixo2026-01-12 20:19

This appears to be the first new show of [the anime studio](https://myanimelist.net/anime/producer/1295/PINE_JAM) since they released the previous season of ‘Tis Time for Torture. Which makes me honestly wonder if they’ve spend these last two years exclusively on *this* series.

Torque-A2026-01-12 19:07

The funniest part of this airing on Mondays is that it premieres right next to Golden Kamuy. Asirpa’s VA voices the princess and Sugimoto’s VA voices Ex.

It’s sort of Golden Kamuy season 3.5.

ad3z102026-01-12 19:13

Not-Hamleys shows up?! Certainly a surprise to have a bit of London represented in a "fantasy" anime.

That aside, I'm happy to celebrate S2 of one of my most anticipated shows and it's great to see it still hits the same spot.

I may be misremembering but it also seems we've had a boost to the production values for this season, feels like there's a lot of energy in the animation.

ClashMasterJH2026-01-12 19:28

I miss s1 op and ed 😭 the new oped animations are great but the songs arent hitting the same (yet)

djthomp2026-01-12 19:45

That entire season two bit had me in stitches. Made me wonder if it was anime original or if the manga did a season two joke and we skipped ahead to it. Looks like it finished just last August so plenty of time for that.

Nice to finally start to get an explanation for the pink girl.

Good [OP](https://youtu.be/KPSvI5K6O_k) and [ED](https://youtu.be/dvhpqvIwrfs), especially the OP.

cyberscythe2026-01-12 20:36

the OP is also available in live-action MV, with English subs (turn on closed captions): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-01oDwXKSuE

ModieOfTheEast2026-01-12 22:58

I assume the manga probably had a joke where they are celebrating getting an anime in the first place and they rewrote it to work for a season 2 sequel. Wouldn't be the first time. I don't remember which anime it was, but there was one that did it like that.

WakaliwoodMan2026-01-12 19:46

Normally I'm not a huge fan of those random Tiktok bait dance segments they shoehorn into anime openings these days, but it was actually pretty funny how it was the princess herself who proposed inserting the dance into the op at the board meeting, cute meta take on the anime tiktok dance trend.

Obaruler2026-01-12 19:49

S2 of the most random ass BS the authors can come up with to "torture" the princess ... and I'm all for it! :D

The VA of the princess obviously has way too much fun with her role. xD

Also: The Demon King once more proves he is on of us, he even has cake to celebrate S2.

cyberscythe2026-01-12 19:58

in case you forgot the deep lore of HimeGou, in season one it was revealed that this pink-haired girl [season 1] >![was the friend at the tea party](https://i.imgur.com/wmjewWT.png) which [betrayed her on the battlefield](https://i.imgur.com/ZsaDcXu.png), though [the princess defeated her](https://i.imgur.com/NrS6Ven.png)!<

Did the Hell Lord use some ploy to get her to betray Hime, and she found out?

Doesn't really seem like something Hell Lord would do.

The way this episode had me smiling most of the episode, it was so much fun to watch. It's funny watching this after Golden Kamuy since Hime and Ex's voice actors are the leads there too.

I can see Hell-lord's exclamation for the second season of his favorite anime is going to become a meme lol. I could definitely relate to his celebration. It's sweet of him to share that with everyone too.

I like how Ex is giving up on Hime more, he's just so done especially after she reacted the same exact way as she did in the first season. At least he got some maintenance, he was literally shining.

tripleaamin2026-01-12 22:27

It's interesting to note that PINE JAM was right back to work on this one right after S1. It looks better than S1 unless my memory is foggy.

This and "The Demon King's Daughter Is Too Kind!!" really hit a good comfort spot for shows this season.

Curious how the inevitable meetup of Purple Hair and Hime will go .

This episode had more animated movement than an entire season of Blue Lock

I won't lie, I have no idea why, but this show made me laugh way too much in the first episode already again. I guess I am just too twisted already that I find joy in someone getting tortured.

On a more serious note, I love that Ex has basically just given up. Even betting against the princess, because he knows that is the better option. And hey, he was the only one to actually know a thing or two about Basketball. So they were right, introducing him as the expert.

I love the meta opening exactly as the first episode did and even then celebrating a season 2 for the anime. IN THE SHOW. Made me laugh so hard

Fools_Requiem2026-01-12 23:47

I hope they don't make a habit of reusing gags used in the previous season. That ruined Aharen S2 for me.

I like celebrating season 2 in this episode and the accurate deception of someone seeing the news of the show getting a second season.

It will be nice to have SOMEONE from the Princess's past join her in some manner. Even despite all of the visitors she gets and the fact that she can basically come and go at will, and has a talking sword, she kinda seems lonely many times because there are no other humans with her.

I loved the fade-away while wide open. So incredibly unnecessary and makes the shot harder to make.

Demon Lord confirmed not a fan of No Game No Life

Warm-Enthusiasm-95342026-01-13 00:32

The Hell-Lord was goaltending on that block. I knew the Hell-horde couldn't be trusted.

I might be crazy but was the basketball poses a kuroko no basket reference.

op went so hard

Shantotto112026-01-13 01:10

Coming right off of *Golden Kamuy*’s new episode, hearing Asirpa and Sugimoto go back and forth in an entirely different anime is jarring as hell.

jaehaerys482026-01-13 01:15

Oh hey, an ILLIT opening! Nice.

oneevilchicken2026-01-13 01:17

Haven’t started watching yet but have to ready myself before I start this horrendously violent show.

Chance-Okra-91982026-01-13 01:41

Mao-mao and Dou this season? It's cuteness overload!

TnAdct12026-01-13 02:46

The real battle of Winter 2026 finally begins: Maomao vs. Doux.

Muffin-zetta2026-01-13 02:57

Literally never been more happy watching anime

Striking_Chard24202026-01-13 03:44

I thought a second season would make the punchline repetitive but I honestly enjoyed this episode!

ChampionshipIll61712026-01-13 03:47

Still as comfy and funny as ever 😂
This show is honestly such a stress reliever

"*Congratulations on Season 2!!*"

Thank you for the song, Tortura. I'm happy to see this 2nd season finally airing.

They basically retell the beginning of S1 and still funny. It's also like a fast recap.

It's kind of funny seeing Ex sitting on chair diagonally. Usually seeing it standing straight up. They should get it some dedicated stand.

saga9992026-01-13 09:34

I miss this show so much. I love having a midnight snack while watching the Hellhorde torture the princess.

Congratulations on season 2.

MalfoyHolmes142026-01-14 02:38

I love and adore this show. The next 11 weeks are going to be absolute heaven with this on the air. It’s a godsend.
The characters are wonderful and I don’t know what I would do without it.

Last season was a 10 out of 10 and just based off the first episode of season 2 I’m already at a 10 for this one as well.

This anime holds a special place in my heart for being the first anime I let my daughter watch with me way earlier than she should have, lol. She was in her late twos during the first season, and I had already seen from the first episode what kind of show this was, and figured since it wasn't so bad I could watch it while she played in the next room (I watch SFW seasonals only when she's up and awake, and save the others for when she's not around). But, the sound of it caught her attention, and I realized I had to explain to her the joke so she wasn't concerned about what was going on. She thought it was funny, and kept asking what they were saying. It became the first of several shows we've watched together while I give quick simplified translations for her.

She's 4 and a half now, and I told her an anime she liked was coming back on and I saved it to watch together. She said "Oh, the skating show!" I laughed and said not yet, and started to describe the plot of this show. She seemed to be only partially remembering it. Then I said "remember the cute demon princess and her dad that looks and sounds scary but is super nice?" and she lit up and screamed "LET'S WATCH IT RIGHT NOW!!!"

Really wish they would dub it for the sake of not having to read subtitles outloud lol
