Starting this year One Piece is moving to a seasonal format. It's coming back in April.

Summit_Chaser472026-01-12 18:09

April 🫣🫣
That long 🥲🥲

N7CombatWombat2026-01-12 18:12

Yup, it's slowing down to 26 episodes a year to give the production crew more time. The weekly format is no more.

Summit_Chaser472026-01-12 18:19

I’ve been surviving on weekly for so long now.

musifter2026-01-12 18:11

Yeah, I love the fact that they introduced the change as the end of season one (with 1155 episodes). With season two coming out in April.

timpkmn892026-01-12 18:14

What about the break where they reaired the Fishmen stuff?

Summit_Chaser472026-01-12 18:15

But 26 eps/year is too less.
I mean they were well ahead in production before.

_StevenPettican042026-01-12 18:20

the manga only released about 35 chapters last year. so if they continue to do a weekly release the pacing is going to continue suffering as much if not more than it already does. the 26 episode limit will allow for the story to flow better and reduce the amount of padding and fluff needed

Summit_Chaser472026-01-12 18:41

Agreed.
Better a good story line instead of fillers

ActualRound76992026-01-12 18:11

Yeah, you’ve been under a rock for awhile apparently. 1155 was the last episode. Nothing new until April and that starts Elbaph. They’re going seasonal with only 26 eps a year after that.

Summit_Chaser472026-01-12 18:17

Under the rock seems like an understatement 🙃

ActualRound76992026-01-12 18:21

and the new schedule is fine. Oda has switched the manga releases to biweekly I think. So, I would rather them have more time for Oda to get ahead than the show turn into slop like Boruto with a shit ton of filler to pad the time frame.

Summit_Chaser472026-01-12 18:40

Agreed on that part.
Waited a decade then why not more

ActualRound76992026-01-12 18:43

Right. They need time to do things right. And with One Piece probably not the only thing they work on it “kinda” minimizes staff exhaustion and overwork. But the abusive system of work for anime studios is an entirely different beast to confront.

ChemistryPerfect45342026-01-12 18:11

Season one ended. Episode 1155 was the season finale. Season two starts in April.

Summit_Chaser472026-01-12 18:18

Yeah I’ve just been made aware.
Gotta wait till April 😢

ChemistryPerfect45342026-01-12 18:19

Yeah. I type slow. Multiple replies while I typed.

Summit_Chaser472026-01-12 18:42

I get that.
Try swipe keyboard and practice practise practice

ChemistryPerfect45342026-01-12 18:50

Usually I'm on a laptop. This was on my phone, where I get a lot less practice.

Summit_Chaser472026-01-12 19:53

I see.
I don't usually use social media on laptop.
Too many things to watch(binge)

ChemistryPerfect45342026-01-12 19:54

*That* is what the Smart TV is for. I'm home now, back on the laptop, with the TV streaming stuff.

Summit_Chaser472026-01-12 19:56

Me being the youngest don't have control over Smart TV.
So everything's on laptop or a borrowed projector.

ChemistryPerfect45342026-01-12 20:23

I just bought my wife a second Smart TV for Christmas, so there are now two in the room, so she can play on the PS5 while I stream.

I get you with the youngest bit. I was also the youngest. Me and my brother had my mother moderate, while we negotiated the Saturday morning cartoon schedule. And then dad would get tired of it, and change the channel to wrestling no matter what we had agreed on.

Summit_Chaser472026-01-13 08:37

I recently switched from a 32 inch to a 65 inch for the family.
Will plan for a 2nd one soon
