What's your fav sleeper anime?

My has to be Scissor Seven. This Chinese anime may seem like a fairly entertaining slice-of-life in the first episodes, but in the first finale the plot becomes very serious, and as it progresses we discover a lot more about characters' pasts. Also the animation style is insanely good and imo it's even better than many other popular anime. I don't know if it's actually a sleeper, but I've heard very few about it before watching it, and I certainly don't think it has the success it deserves.
Lmk about your fav!

I don’t see From the New World (shin sekai yori) talked about much. It’s a really cool world with some awesome art and plot. The setup is a long time post apocalypse after humanity develops psychic powers, and follows the life of some kids in that society to adulthood.

Waiting in the Summer is a great romcom in my opinion.

ReCreators is an awesome action fantasy.

I think both are slept on in their categories, but that might just be me

Difficult to judge.

But I'd probably say Centaur no Nayami.

It's the one for which the ratings and popularity/word of mouth/amount I hear about it is perhaps the most disproportionate to how surprisingly good, interesting, and enjoyable it is. Slice of Life is one of my favorite genres (up there with Thriller), and I'd really consider it the most undersung underdog of SoL titles for sure and something which offers a different experience than most.

Parasyte: The Maxim. This is biased because it was one of my first animes and it’s super corny but I still love it to this day.

Dennou Coil deserves way more recognition. It's basically if Serial Experiments Lain and Summer Wars had a kid, but with actual depth to the mystery and world-building that most modern anime lacks.

I'm surprised how it seems now nobody has heard of Puella Magi Madoka Magicka, yet it seemed like such a big thing back when it came out. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes fun magical girl shows.

As someone who grew up in the world of jewellery and gemstones, Ruri Rocks was a 10/10 for me. Good art and animation, informative, and engaging. Loved every second of it.
