Why isn't osomatsu san (2015) popular? It's everything a comedy/gag anime needs...

I just watched 2 seasons of osomatsu san.... N it's amazing.. it helped me smmm after a very emotionally stressful week... I am so surprised that it isn't that popular in anime community...it has everything a comedy/gag anime needs ... the ridiculous sextuplet plot n sleazy brothers are so fun to watch...I just cannot recommend it enough... If you like comedy of gintama , saiki k n grand blue you will definitely love it.... It just got a 4 season so I think it's fairly popular in Japan but it needs to have more buzzz around it... I hope people recognise this hidden gem... I am so happy I came across it randomly 🤧🤧

Weird color palette and character design... Stuff that looks weird for an anime usually make it less popular

First season never took off because episode 1 starts off with a huge licensing nightmare right off the bat, which made it harder to get in front of people's eyes, and so it wasn't really popular outside of Japan. And then it also falls off pretty hard in later seasons, so there's that.

It’s an adaptation of a much more… uh… Japanese work whose artstyle and comedic sense aren’t all that conducive to being super popular in the West.

The answer to “why isn’t X more popular in the West” is usually “not enough Western audiences fucked with it”

But it is similar to comedy anime that are popular... I don't think the anime only suits the japanese comedy style it's much more than that .. i think it just missed the timing and the marketing..
