It fits your criteria pretty well.
It's like SAO, but a lot better. People are all sucked into an MMO and can't leave. The MC is a brilliant strategist, and comes up with OP solutions for him and his team. The worldbuilding is good, and it can be dark at moments.
It just ends too soon.
Shangri-La Frontier is very good, but not as serious as the others. A god-tier gamer who plays buggy trash games, starts playing the full dive MMO of the anime title. The stakes are lower, since it's all about being the best gamer breaking the games he plays, and getting world first kills - instead of actual world saving. There's some amount of comedy.
Kaiju Number 8 also is really good and I think it fits your criteria pretty well, it might get somewhat dark. You might need to give it a couple of episodes to get into it since the protagonist takes a little bit to get his powers.
One Punch Man if you have not seen it, season 1 is one of the best seasons of anime ever made, it goes downhill after that.
Mob Psycho 100: Same author as one Punch Man, more serious as it deals with lots of real world issues people experience but also a lot of humor and very likable characters. MC is absolutely OP but doesn't care about being strong, he mostly wants to become a better person and try and get the girl he has a crush on to notice him.
The Irregular at Magic High School: Magical High School anime, has had multiple seasons and OVAs, the magic system is pretty well thought out and the action scenes are good. Takes place in the modern day just magic and technology have been developed together.
Isekai:
Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody: Programer of a game gets isekaied into his game and accidentally wipes out an army as soon as he gets there with a developer spell he had been playing around with and shoots up to max level. It's not amazing but mindless fun.
That time I got reincarnated as a slime: Guy dies an reincarnates as a slime in a fantasy world with system assistant in his head and can take on the abilities of creatures he eats. First season is excellent, after that it gets a bit hit or miss with lots of episodes focused on sitting at tables and having meetings.
Tsukimichi Moonlit Fantasy: Guy gets sent to a fantasy world but then gets dumped by the goddess there because he's not hot enough and ends up starting up his own kingdom with monsters. Mostly chill series with a few moments where he goes wild, but not really dark.
thank you so much
