Loved Konosuba’s humor and Naruto’s world. What are some "hidden gems" I'm missing?

I’m relatively new to anime, having only seen the big hits like **Naruto** and **Konosuba**. I want to branch out into things that aren't necessarily the "Top 5" most popular.
I really enjoyed the comedic timing in Konosuba and the sense of adventure in Naruto. I’ve heard people mention **Gintama** and **Grand Blue** for comedy, but are there any newer ones from the **Winter 2026** season I should check out? Thanks for the help!

Hi Physical_Card_700, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

Kenja no mago is questionable. Personaly i'd categorize it as shit so bad that you can't stop watching

But agreed on some anime on that list, especially wrong way to use healing magic and bofuri

We haven't had any standout comedies recent. They're relatively rare. Here's a few good options based on what you like:

Hunter x Hunter 2011

Magi

Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken 2020

Isekai Ojisan

Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudou

Black Clover

Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu

Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu

Comedy anime rarely makes me laugh; smiling yes, but rarely a laugh. The only two exceptions have been Konosuba and Ninkoro (AKA: A Ninja and An Assassin Living Under the Same Roof)

Honestly Free , blue exorcist and gorilla girl had me cackling

zenithfury2026-01-13 08:15

Try Bikini Warriors. It’s satire. If you like fantasy themes try out Dungeon Meshi and Rage of Bahamut.

Mashle is great, kind of a Harry Potter spoof.

Welcome to demon school Iruma-Kun, got some great characters always makes me laugh.

And if you want something that is currently airing Golden Kamuy is a wild ride, kinda hard to explain but a great watch.

Kadmos12026-01-13 12:08

"Golden Kamuy" now has an 18+ rating on Crunchyroll? WTH? I could see that for "Tales of Wedding Rings", but I think GK would be more of a 16+.

lurk65242026-01-13 08:52

Nichijou. Bizarre humour.

wendee2026-01-13 09:15

Migi & Dali

Apocalypse Hotel

Sleepy Princess at the Demon Castle

Pinky_Boy2026-01-13 09:15

Asobi asobase and bocchi the rock maybe?

Al-Kupone2026-01-13 09:15

I don't think most of the recommendations here are fitting except for Hunter X Hunter, Magi and maybe Nichijou (it's very cutesie though).

You should really give Gintama a try, but if you don't find a Sub where they explain some of the jokes it's gonna be hard to get into especially early on since they reference a ton and make a lot of jokes which were relevant only at the time.

Thoraxe4742026-01-13 09:19

If you want more comedy, asobi aosbase. If you want amazing world building, mushoku tensei

Ok-Mobile72172026-01-13 09:19

Asobi Asobase

rollin3402026-01-13 09:56

If you want comedy, [Hinamatsuri](https://myanimelist.net/anime/36296/Hinamatsuri) and [Saiki](https://myanimelist.net/anime/33255/Saiki_Kusuo_no_%CE%A8-nan) are great.

MaxxMavv2026-01-13 09:59

Spy X Family season 3 starts soon (my GF got me into it, have to admit it was actually good/funny)

dienomighte2026-01-13 10:32

Closest anime to konosuba I've seen recently is Let This Grieving Soul Retire, whose second season just finished a few weeks ago. Basically the mc is the leader of the strongest party of adventurers, considered to be one of the strongest and smartest people, and he is extremely incompetent, lazy, stupid and weak. Chaos ensues.

Time_Fracture2026-01-13 14:09

I was about to say Combatants Will Be Dispatched since it has the same author, but you said Winter 2026 anime.

There was a Cute Girl in the Hero's Party, maybe?

oedipusrex3762026-01-13 17:16

I love Gintama and Konosuba, and the only thing that really hits the same these days is **Yuru Yuri**. It’s genuinely funny, and it gets even better once you’re familiar with the cast (kinda the same logic as Gintama).
