> Nobody wants "Grubby Forager" Rudd on their adventuring team. His nickname—and his stench—come from his constant treks into the Noxious Labyrinth to gather medicinal herbs, a job he survives only thanks to his status immunity skill. When he’s finally recruited as a party porter, things seem to be looking up... Until a deadly dungeon monster appears and his fake allies use him as bait before abandoning him! Wounded, destitute, and barely surviving the attack, Rudd breaks a forbidden taboo to stay alive: eating monsters. But the more he devours, the more power he gains, kicking off a thrilling, adventurous gourmet fantasy!

Also apparently it’s a “light anime” so don’t expect too much

Pretty cool visual, but the synopsis ruined it for me. All it seems to be is an edgelord Maple.
I think I'll pass. Nice artwork for the visual though.

If it's the one I remember, the MC really isn't that edgy. It has the standard "kicked from the party" style start but is pretty chill after that.
IntroductionRare52712026-01-13 17:36
one day we will have a kicked from the party where it was truly deserved lol
Toloran2026-01-13 19:08
Honestly not uncommon as you think. A lot of the "Kicked from the party for being useless" ones are that the MC *actually is weak*. I'd even say more often than not the kicked MC only gets OP because they gain a new ability *after* they leave.
IntroductionRare52712026-01-13 19:11
I can't think of one.
The closest one is banished from the heroes party I I chose to live in the country side, but even then he was so indespenseable to the party that it immediately crumbled when he left.
It's always their party just not recognizing how great they are lmao
Toloran2026-01-13 19:31
Off hand I can think of: (Apologies for the long titles, but these are all WN adaptations)
* **"Walking the Rising Adventurer's Path with a Dragon: The Recovery Magician Who was Expelled from His S-Rank Party as No Longer Useful Ends Up Reviving the Strongest Divine Dragon in the Place Where He was Abandoned"**. MC was a mid to good healer, but he could ONLY heal. He was kicked once they got someone who could fight and heal. He became OP because he healed a dying dragon and then drank her blood or whatever and got dragon powers.
* **A NEET’s Guide to the Parallel World: Healer, the Strongest Cheat?** Not strictly "Kicked from the party" but MC is isekaied along with class. He's a basic-ass healer and gets yeeted off to die for being useless. He really IS a basic-ass healer with awful stats. The only reason he gets OP is because he manages to not immediately die, find a powerful item, and the item makes him OP.
* (I can't find the title for this one): Yet another healer one. MC is a *strong* healer but he basically passes out as soon as he heals anything due to low mana capacity. They yeet him into the avoid, he gets saved by what is probably an elder god or something, and now has infinite mana.

That third one is **A White Mage Who Was Exiled After Being Handed a Knife in an SSS-Rank Dungeon: Due to the Curse of Yggdrasil, He Overcame His Weak Point, Lack of Magical Power, and Became the Strongest in the World**. People always joked about the long title whenever a discussion post for a new chapter appeared in r/manga.

There's the manga/LN where a guy has to get himself kicked out of the hero's party in 100 different isekai worlds.
Elf_Cocksleeve2026-01-13 14:14
I actually happened to read some of this the other day because I enjoy making myself suffer by reading generic isekai. It wasn’t offensively bad and the MC is a nice, friendly guy.
I still wouldn’t give this anime the time of day though.

Oh that
Time_Fracture2026-01-13 16:44
Expect slideshows and minimal animations. [Broken Saintess](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98qNX-vLVFM) and [Potion](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8-jCAksIF4) anime to name a few.
The expression ‘Temu something’ is simply unpleasant. It just sounds like an insult toward the work.
the-worthless-one2026-01-13 13:44

Honestly a pretty mid but easy to digest read through. Fun mcs to root for. Very serviceable if not that very distinguished WEBTOON designs that are easily lost in the WEBTOON fantasy genre.
I love some dumb weak to op progression slop and I love eat stuff get stronger power sets. But tbh the start of the WEBTOON and its initial world building is pretty ass that I almost dropped it. Worst part is the first couple chapters. You read the original synopsis and explanation of the mc and his typical born with hero abilities world and his own power, and your like wow that’s obviously gonna be broken, but the world and lore just so blatantly disrespects the potential of his powers in some pretty awful and uninspired writing.
So glad it drops the scathing blitheness immediately so you can move on with the get more powerful progression tropes. Just a very fair and easy read imo. As an anime, I’ve grown to really enjoy this genre more so as a read through as you can power through the slop and either skip/drop/background noise this genre unless the animation is crazy like Solo Leveling.
