It’s also on my VLC player since there’s no CR in Japan.
darkmacgf2026-01-14 19:57
Huh, I thought it was streaming on a bunch of Japanese services.
Aidan1962026-01-14 20:04
Not with English subs
Galactical3452026-01-14 00:31
It looks like it is.
Even tho HIDIVE has the S1 & S2 of Oshi No Ko, but I don't know if Crunchyroll will have those seasons.
heimdal772026-01-14 04:07
Well this means for fans of the show and want blu rays are garenteed for them to be made and in the same way. It is always a roll of the dice iif CR makes a physical. Funny as they were bought with the two biggest publishers of physical medium anime.
Illustrious_Arm_7322026-01-14 02:02
Sorry to bother but what does this means?
CrimsonGear802026-01-14 02:57
It's streaming on both Crunchyroll and HiDive
trapasuoris_rex2026-01-14 06:53
I can't find the first episode on crunchy. Would we have to wait a day??
cppn022026-01-14 17:18

”HIDIVE got access to one of the only five shows it has that gives people, reason to have it for seasonals”
MrCovell2026-01-13 20:33
HIDIVE has potential but they refuse to fucking develop the app like at all.
ActualRound76992026-01-13 20:50
honestly such an ass UI and just so few option. So disappointing.
AkhasicRay2026-01-13 20:51
The app is so godawful, like it’s never been GOOD, but it at least used to be manageable. It’s amazing that it’s as bad as it is, you’d think at some point in the last 10+ years they’d invest some money into fixing it.
mmcjawa_reborn2026-01-13 21:16
I'm pretty convinced that AMC (the owner of HiDive) hasn't bothered investing effort because they plan on just rolling it up into AMC+ at some point when contractual obligations let them.
Verzwei2026-01-14 04:59
The Roku HiDive app got an update roughly 2 months ago. It's way better than it used to be.
Sw0rDz2026-01-13 20:54
Can't you learn to love the app instead of them tailoring to you? They work very hard ignoring complaints and subscription cancelations. Please have some sympathy.
King_Artis2026-01-13 21:03
OnK and Dangers in my heart are the only reasons I ever had HiDive.
The UI is so *ass*
Could genuinely be a great alternative if they got a better UI, but as it stands I find myself not wanting to use it between navigation having issues and the app barely wanting to load on my phone or Xbox.

That's been done for weeks, it finished in early December.
Flat-Entry902026-01-13 21:44
I cannot believe you left out The Eminence in Shadow.
You've made Delta sad....and she doesn't even know why.
ActualRound76992026-01-13 21:48
I tried watching and for some reaso it didn’t appeal. which is weird because I KNOW it’s a genre parody, and I fuckin L O V E 100 Girlfriends so I like parody
isekai_me_daddy2026-01-14 21:51
Honestly ive always said eminence is fantasy charlies angels
Sun_Skipper2026-01-14 22:34
It actually is so strange to me you didn't like it based off your other interests, and ESPECIALLY 100 girlfriends.
Maybe give it another shot? First lil intro arc ends on episode 5. There is some S tier comedic timing in that show that I think you would appreciate
81Ranger2026-01-14 12:59
Not the person who made that list, but Eminence is Shadow is way more cringe than I can handle.
I want to watch it because it looks like there's attractive anime ladies, but I just can't handle it. It's too much.
KawaiiNeko8282026-01-13 22:04
Tbh I wish HiDive does focus on getting licenses for older animes, cuz it is probably hard for them to compete against Crunchyroll and other platforms for newest animes.
And fix their UI, too.
ActualRound76992026-01-13 22:07
Right. Carve out a niche for the older and obscure stuff and agreed abou fixing the UI
timpinen2026-01-14 05:36
That used to be their niche. When they first started, the original Legend of the Galactic heroes was their flagship product that they advertised. However, I guess it didn't attract the business they needed to maintain the license
Mindless_Morning_4072026-01-15 08:34
If they can did all season of darker than black that would be more than enough of a reason to pay monthly for me. They should focus on golds like that so you can actually watch them.
heimdal772026-01-14 04:10

heimdal772026-01-14 05:08
I actually own the blu rays. They come with a little extra in the case at least the one I have.
clone692026-01-13 21:43
I would add Gushing to that list, but Hidive pulled out from my country the season Gushing aired, so it was their first show I yo-ho-ho'd after they told me they didn't want my money.
toadfan642026-01-14 08:59
It's unbelievable on how bad the UI is. They updated it a few years ago and made it even worse.
xnef10252026-01-19 03:15
I have Prime so I just signed up as a sub within Prime because the HiDive app itself makes Prime's shitty interface look good. At least Prime remembers where I left off properly.
Oxu902026-01-13 21:07
They also refuse actually stream the shows they take anywhere
tenji2402026-01-13 21:23
If you are in the US, the hidive content is available on Amazon Prime Video. You will have to pay for access to the channel but the experience is so much better.
msizzle3442026-01-13 22:29
Idk if it’s changed but they used to not get ALL of the hidive shows as they aired. I remember them not having Oshi No Ko Season 1 or Eminence in shadow season 2 as it was airing. Maybe they show more now though
CAW42026-01-14 02:13
The app experience is better, but wouldn't that give you amazon tier subtitles? I remember hidive having good subs, even color coding some, while amazon is just mediocre closed captions.
chowellvta2026-01-13 21:33
Hell I remember their old UI. It was garbage too don't get me wrong, looked straight outta the 2000s, but at least it WORKED most of the time
FlawlessAtheon2026-01-13 21:45
Also, instead of trying to expand, they actually pulled out of most countries they were once available on.
RichardG8672026-01-13 23:42
They also had no regional pricing and mostly English subs only, no wonder they didn't catch on worldwide.
msizzle3442026-01-13 22:28
The app never works, they have a good catalogue too. Only works on a laptop and lately that hasn’t worked much for me either. Cancelled that shit forever ago, it’s tragic they keep getting shows.
Fallacyboy2026-01-13 23:41
I agree their app and browser experience is pretty bad, but I think people forget how tiny they are. Last I checked they were under a million subscribers and not all that big as a company. I think AMC doesn’t realize what they’re sitting on and isn’t really investing in it appropriately.
Funny enough, I liked their old website design a lot better. It objectively had more features and was more functional, which isn’t usually a good sign.
heimdal772026-01-14 04:09
Its worse than that. They actually made it several times worse than the bare bones app they use to have.
Verzwei2026-01-14 04:55
They actually and surprisingly pushed an updated Roku app through about a couple months ago. Went from being usable to what I'd consider good, as it added in the features that seemed to be most sorely missed. Notably, it now correctly remembers which episodes of a series I've watched (making it easier to resume shows) and the skip ahead and back functions now do a 10s quick skip rather than the old minute-long jumps. Also, most episodes of some shows have a skip OP/ED button now.
The only thing still lacking is that it doesn't do on-screen text if you are watching in dub with no sub, but TBH I think that's a Roku hardware limitation and not a HiDive problem. The app inherits all of the settings for Roku's closed caption system, which seems all or nothing. If you have subs turned on, then it does subs *and* onscreen text, even if you are still running English audio. But turning off the subs also kills the onscreen, and there doesn't appear to be a "middle ground" option.
Dunk3052026-01-14 10:02
Just awful app.
YoshioKST2026-01-14 16:29

SoccerForEveryone2026-01-13 20:00

tripleaamin2026-01-13 20:00
One thing I am wondering. Will Crunchyroll have S1 & S2? Or is it just S3?
Terrapinja2026-01-13 20:26
[deleted]
SSjjlex2026-01-14 03:54
Reminder that they only got the (mandatory) bunnygirl senpai movies AFTER the second season had started airing lol.
Ok in fairness this is a different case since OnK is on streaming normally compared to a theatrical movie release, but still. technically not off the table
Terrapinja2026-01-14 04:13
To be fair I interpreted what OC said as "Will S1 & S2 be there when the Oshi no Ko entry is available on Crunchyroll" since it's not even up yet and will probably only go up when the first episode of S3 is made available tomorrow. Beyond that there's literally no way to tell if/when S1 & S2 will ever be on CR. It's possible knowing Sentai's history of sublicensing shows but it's also very possible it'll be the only season of Oshi no Ko on CR for the foreseeable future like many other shows on there.
Jauretche2026-01-13 21:46
Most likely not.
CrimsonGear802026-01-13 21:54
At some point they will, I’m sure
jardex222026-01-15 10:04
They'll likely get 1 and 2 at some point, but it might be after the current season is over.
I recall that once they started airing Pretty Cure, they picked up in the middle of a season, since it doesn't follow the usual release schedule, then uploaded the previous episodes later.
Beastlydog232026-01-13 20:01
Well that's strange. Is this the first seasonal that will be on both Crunchyroll and Hidive?
Of course, the Japanese voice actors will be the same for the sub version. But I wonder what this will mean for the sub of the show. Will this be like another Vinland Saga, where we have two separate dubs?
tripleaamin2026-01-13 20:48
More than likely, yes. Unless Crunchyroll doesn't dub it. Though again, it would be weird to dub a series that you didn't dub in S1 or S2.
NUFC9RW2026-01-13 22:00
It's already on CR's list of simuldubs for the season.
mudda-hello2026-01-14 00:07
>Will this be like another Vinland Saga, where we have two separate dubs?
It'll be very bizarre if that happens, having two different Texas based dubs at the same time instead of Los Angeles & Texas with Vinland Saga
Verzwei2026-01-14 05:01
Not only that but the talent pool overlap between CR (Formerly Funi) and Sentai is pretty big. Both studios would hire a lot of the same actors with only a relatively small handful being fully exclusive to one studio or the other.
xzerozeroninex2026-01-14 01:29
Wasn’t SAO Aliciziation available on every streaming platform that wanted it,including Crunchyroll and HiDive?
Verzwei2026-01-14 05:02
Pop Team Epic ran practically everywhere with its first season, including HiDive and Funimation (and probably CR) IIRC.
HuTaosTwinTails2026-01-13 20:07
Now this is interesting.
FlammaeNoctu2026-01-13 20:42
The CR app has tons of issues but is in every way more practical and amicable to the user than the dumpster on fire that is the HiDive app.
disposable-assassin2026-01-13 21:30
I hate that for the PS5 app, you can't turn on english dubs together with english subtitles and cleaning up your watch list is not available.
ThePeToFile2026-01-14 00:37
Lmao in the TV App, your watchlist and history is located in your settings for some reason
disposable-assassin2026-01-14 01:00
Yeah, history is in the settings in the PS5 app as well. Still can't delete anything. At least the watchlist is it's own top-level link as well as a row in the main scroll.
Oxu902026-01-13 21:03
So most of the world need to wait !t least half year, likely a year because of HiDive prison
Yarrrr!
Shack6912026-01-13 21:35
No both HiDive and Crunchyroll have it this season.
jardex222026-01-15 09:59
Crunchyroll has it as well, but they only have season 3 at the moment.
cppn022026-01-13 21:15
Probably came to CR begging on their knees with all the money they could scrape together.
xenon24562026-01-13 21:19
So I guess they would still have the rights for a dub
garfe2026-01-13 21:20
Interesting. I was saying that they dropped the bag losing OnK 3 seasons in but something like what CR has with some Netflix shows was unexpected.
spectre152026-01-13 21:26
HIDIVE really doesn’t have much longer left as a service if it’s giving up one of their main attractions. All they have to offer of note is Call of the Night and this.
-Work_Account-2026-01-13 21:34
If that's all you think HiDive has to offer, you're missing out on some great shows.
AceSoldia2026-01-13 21:29
Wonder which streaming app will be faster
CommanderZx22026-01-13 21:53
The better question is, which will have the better dub. It's possible both CR and Hidive will have their own dubs with Hidive maintaining the same cast from the previous seasons.
AceSoldia2026-01-13 21:57
Ah I never watched the dub so lol
TheToadKing2026-01-14 04:02
[HIDIVE is streaming it at 10AM EST](https://news.hidive.com/2025/12/17/hidive-reveals-the-winter-2026-simulcast-lineup) which is a half-hour after the TV broadcast ends.
pops9922026-01-13 21:34
Hidive still exists? I subscribed for a month to watch Ya Boy Kongming and the app was basically unusable to the point where I finished the series on the high seas and the experience was noticably better.
Sup_YB2026-01-14 00:39
As it should
but watching anything on hidive is SUCH A PAIN istg
Kadmos12026-01-14 03:26
Back when HIDIVE's predecessor ADV was still around, Funimation licensed the 3rd season of "Full Metal Panic". ADV recorded the show but Funi released it. Hopefully, a similar thing is done dub wise with OnK 3.
madhavkapoor2026-01-14 03:50
I have been going on & off for about last couple of weeks on whether I should get the HiDive subscription but it’s like $7/month!! I already have a Crunchyroll subscription but atleast that has a very large range of animes. But for few ones like Dangers in my Heart, Eminence in Shadow & Chained Soldier , am not sure if investing another $7 per month is worth the investment! 🙈
xzerozeroninex2026-01-15 12:50
You can sub once the seasons ends and binge watch the new anime’s for a month than cancel, repeat for the next season.
Ok_Pear_24342026-01-14 05:02
Pretty sure The anime Dive!! Was on it. Liked it

also what does it mean blu-ray stuff i only watch the anime when it’s running. is it like newer version to rewatch ?
InsaneArtist90002026-01-14 08:25
What news before hype for new season.
ImprovementSea79082026-01-14 11:08
what does it mean
jardex222026-01-15 09:52
It means that HIDIVE will be streaming the series. Previously it was exclusive to that platform, but Crunchyroll secured the rights to season 3.
By the look of things, Crunchyroll only has one episode of season 3 so far, while HIDIVE has all the currently released anime content. I'm not sure if Crunchyroll will get seasons 1 and 2 on their platform or not. Hulu has the first two seasons, but not season 3.
Essentially, if you've watched the first two seasons, you can choose either Crunchy or HIDIVE to watch season 3. If you want to start at season 1, you can choose HIDIVE or Hulu. If you choose Hulu, you'll need to switch to another service once you finish season 2.
