What to watch after aot
You know I watched a o t after which I could not watch or pick up any other anime because a OT was so hard breaking that it did not let me move on to some other story. Although I did pickup steins gate death note it was good but not as good as aoT so suggest me animes that I can watch that are like on an equal footing with aot... And Animesh that can actually Animesh that actually leave a print in your mind if not exactly like aot

You'll get quite a long list, given how many posts I see 'suggested' on my reddit news feed. Just imagine how many you'll get if you actually go looking for it.
Anyone who tries starting another post about it, is linked to the pinned post, and comments closed, as first warning.
Second warning deleted and booted for the lack of ability to read/use the subreddit/too lazy to scroll for 30 seconds to see the other posts.
Rezero, mushoku tensei, made in abyss, shinsekai yori, hxh, evangelion, devilman crybaby, monogatari series are some of my favourites that left equally epic impressions on me (you already mentioned steins gate) and have the despair and hopelessness (for protagonist or humanity)
It's even better on the second watch where you'll notice so many key details and foreshadowing.
Other recommendations around the quality of AOT.
Neon Genesis evangelion and End of Evangelion
Monster
Vinland Saga
Legend of the Galactic Heroes

But if you want something right after AOT, my suggestion would be Code Geass. Literally one of my top anime, after having watched anime for 20+ years now. Love it to bits and I'm sure you'd love it right now too
Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress
Last Exile
Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri
