What anime should I get my friend on, and how should I get him on it?

A good friend of mine is a tier 1 anime hater. I cannot bring up a single mention of anime around him without getting made fun of (which is out of brotherly love but still). But he also uses anime references as jokes without knowing they’re from an anime.

How do I get him to watch anime or atleast get it a shot? What anime should I put him on?

If your friends not going to like anime your friend's not going to like anime. You can try to show him something like dandadan or whatever your favorites are. I say dandadan because it's so easily like especially from the beginning with the comedy, fan service, in action. But if he doesn't like it or doesn't watch it f*** him. The sooner I learned that people aren't going to like anime and think you're stupid for watching it the easier it was for me to say I don't care and I like it and you can get f*****.

edit your post with some shit about your friend. what is his favorite shows, sense of humor, games he likes. you can't seriously expect a good recommendation when all we know is that he has prejudice against anime, right?

What genres does he like? I'd say death note because it straddles the line between serious crime thriller and anime quirkiness. However introducing him to quality anime within his preferred genre should be a better strategy.

I love that genre, but it's going to feed into his prejudice. You'd have better luck with something resembling a grounded soap opera if you want to change his impression.

I think you should start with japanese tv series first, like alice in borderland or smt like that. If your friend like it, you can try with anime.
