Recommend me Anime with Romance as a Subplot.
Hey guys, I love the Romance genre, but recently, when I watch anime with only focus on Romance, especially Slice of Life romances, I become bored. So I want an Anime, which is not only focused on Romance, there should be other stuff going on too. Like Romance should be a one of the main element. For e.g. The Apothecary Diaries. And Call of The Night. I'd like to avoid school settings. It can be any genre, action, fantasy, Isekai, etc. Just Romance should be actually progressive.

The only “romance” anime that had me n my wife GLUED. It outlines the discrepancies of what we truly feel and how we express them quite eloquently. While weirdly hitting that part we don’t understand. It had me bawling my eyes out. The next second i wondered if i ever truly experienced human emotions.
It’s a show that, while leisurely watching, will make the human part of you LOCK TF IN, sometimes in tears and think profoundly simple thoughts about our own nature and beauty of expression. How we take simple, loving moments, the tone of your partners voice, our own intentions, EVERYTHING and misconstrue them while still being right in some capacity. Many more tones than just romance are delineated aswell.
This and Ergo Proxy. Not often we get female writers on this magnificent a scale since Keiko-chan (Wolfs Rain/Cowboy Bebop) and the magnanimous creator of To Your Eternity. Gachiakuta also has a badass female author. And theres something about how they annunciate emotions that resonates deeply with viewers.
Apologies for the copypaste reply to some posts but i feel it argues the meaning behind the anime quite elegantly.

Inuyasha is an isekai adventure battle-shonen with a very important love triangle romance subplot. The female MC is at the end of middle school, but the anime shows the school life very, very occasionally, so I definately wouldn't call it a school setting.
