The Guyver - total NEWB with "anime" questions!
I only know "The Guyver" exists because of YouTube. LOL I did a little homework.
It looks like there's the original magna, 3 anime, & 2 films.
Since this is the anime sub, I'll just ask about the 3 anime!
1st anime = Out of Control (1986)
2nd anime = Bio-Booster Armor (1989-92)
3rd anime = The Bioboosted Armor (2005-06)
Is the alien suit a parasite or symbiont like the Venom movies?
Which entries are worth seeing?

I haven;t watched 'Out of Control' but as I understand it, it is still an adaption of the start of the Manga, which is also in 'Bio-boosted armor'.
The two live action films are shlock and may be fun to watch after the Anime, if you're rerferring to the western remakes with 'Shaun' instead of 'Sho' as the main character.
The Guyver units are living organisms, however the anime doesn't really get into any infor about what level of sapience they have.
In broad terms the story is about the company Genom, who engineers people into biological weapons, losing three Guyver units they obtained through unknown means, presumably having an interest in how the 'living armor' might trabnslate into their research.
I have a lot of fond memories for the show and for me, it holds up well thanks to the art and style of the armor design. Also, blood, snapped bones and melting flesh are prominent and it was part of an edgy teen phase
From the 3 anime, just watch the 2nd one?
