I want to explore something good, something, depressing, heart breaking, which related to childhood trauma and self harm maybe, death.
Can you suggest something like this that I can watch in India...

Crunchyroll (biggest legal anime streaming site) has quite a few shows you can watch with ads, you just have to try a few out. About 10% of the shows are on the ad-supported tier, but this includes some bigger names, so it's worth seeing what you can watch there.

"Erased" aka "Boku dake ga Inai Machi"

It would be a decent first show, it's short, only 12 episodes and a completed story (many anime are adapted from books or comics but don't adapt the full story as a TV show), with a darker tone and some of the themes you brought up. I don't want to say much more because of spoilers and it's better to just watch it.

You can also try movies such as "Your Name" and "A Silent Voice"

"[Haibane Renmei](https://myanimelist.net/anime/387/Haibane_Renmei)" is a classic if you can find this. It's about a girl who awakes with no memories in a strange place where everyone has angel wings, which may be limbo.

They're emotional and might have depressing parts, but they're not the Gold Medal Olympics level depressing, there's a whole category of anime like that.

A great classic Anime movie is Ninja Scroll nice and gory. Also check out Studio Ghibli another classic from them that I recommend is Prince Mononoke and Sprited away are great movies!! there’s also a shit ton of Dragon ball Z movies my favorite are Tree of might and Broly legendary Super Saiyan
