r/anime's Superlatives of 2025 Voting (Favorite Episode, Best Guy, Best Girl, etc.)

Pretty much running the same stuff as last year with a couple minor tweaks:

1. Swapped out Best Cast to be Best Squad. Slightly different, but the r/anime Awards brought back Best Cast so no need to run it separately.

2. Similarly, they brought back Best Supporting Character so that's out and replaced with Most Hated Character. Maybe fun idea, maybe awful idea.

3. Got rid of Biggest News Story. Could have probably just tweaked it because I was a bit eh on putting "Person Died" against "Show Announced".

I want to get out early and stump for **Apocalypse Hotel ep. 11** for best episode of the year.

Truly a special, master work of an episode that doesn't even come along every year. Don't forget it!

My full nominations:

* Apocalypse Hotel ep. 11
* Apothecary Diaries S2 ep. 23
* The Summer Hikaru Died ep. 7
* City ep. 5
* City ep. 9

Nominating City the animation's race scene in episode 9 for best animated scene of the year : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mW6el0AN0as

Among some of my top choices. Episode 7 of The Summer Hikaru Died was easily the best of the year for me. Immaculate direction. Actual feelings of dread and suspense in a horror anime. Masterfully ended with a anime original song featuring the two main voice actors singing together to add another layer of depth and context to the episode. This is the one I think is most deserving out of anything I’ve watched this year.

Had some trouble with a couple categories, but here we go:

Gnosia, A Wild Last Boss Appears, and Zenshu ended up being my top 3 pleasant surprises of the 2025 anime watching year.

For worst anime are we using MAL rules? Unpopular one but it's 3 minutes so maybe I can make fetch happen; Musashino! Bonus is a [separate entry on MAL](https://myanimelist.net/anime/62320/Musashino_Bonus) while on CR it's just an episode 13 ([without a synopsis](https://www.crunchyroll.com/watch/G7PU4ZDNW/a-bonus), as that would be putting in more effort than the episode itself had) nearly 3 years after episode 12.

Best Episodes

1. My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON Ep 3 "The Final Boss!!"
2. Orb Episode 21 Times Are Changing
3. Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 12: Are You the King of Humans
4. To Be Hero X - Episode 24 "X"
5. Lord of the Mysteries - Episode 13: Light

Best Animated Scene

1. Zenitsu Use 7th Form (Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle)
2. Katsuki Bakugo Returns And Defeat All For One
3. Denji Riding the Shark Devil (Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc)

3. Umamusume: Cinderella Gray

Best Aesthetic

1. Orb: On the Movements of the Earth
2. Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc
3. Lord of Mysteries

I had to think quite a bit to fill the survey, the only category which was really easy was the most hated characters. It was the entire cast of Rent-a-Girlfriend.

Voted somehow. I feel bad there are a bunch of shows I really liked (like HanaShura) that I just could not put in any cathegory.

Also, hard to vote for the worst anime when I only dropped a couple of series (because you simply did not watch the actual worst ones) and my disappointments this year were not worth the "worst" status.

There should be a different set of categories than the usual. Like "Best Pink Hair" "Best Grey Hair" "Best In-Lore Band" "Best Tsundere/Yandere" etc etc etc
