Anime with MC like Yogiri Takatou

My Instant Death Ability Is So Overpowered was my favorite watch of the year because it featured a strong MC who didn’t hesitate to kill people when necessary. I love a MC that can be ruthless but isn’t by default so looking for my anime like that.

No harems or ecchi please and nothing too dark

Hi Bridoriya, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

>because it featured an OP MC who didn’t hesitate to kill people

You good buddy?

Bridoriya2026-01-16 02:09

I am. Killing people who are trying to kill you is really the only appropriate reaction in an anime imo

N7CombatWombat2026-01-16 02:22

I would say killing someone who is currently trying to kill you or someone else isn't so much an appropriate reaction as it is an unfortunate one.

For recommendations, the only thing coming to mind where the MC is OP, kills things/people and is not too dark would be Reincarnated as a Sword, keeping in mind I don't know what your idea of 'not too dark' is.

Bridoriya2026-01-16 02:25

Too dark for me is Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack on Titan. I liked Reincarnated as a sword but the character doesn’t need to be unmatched in the universe, just ruthless when needed

N7CombatWombat2026-01-16 02:34

Hmmm, how about:

Lord Marksman and Vanadis (little bit of ecchi, but no nudity)

Gate: Thus the JSDF Fought

The Saga of Tanya the Evil

The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat (some light ecchi as well)

Jormungand

Bridoriya2026-01-16 02:38

I had to drop World’s Finest Assassin because the butt naked body inspection scenes were so weird but I love the saga of Tanya the evil. I just wish the anime was longer

N7CombatWombat2026-01-16 02:40

The second season of Tanya might come out this year, I don't know if it got confirmed though.

Bridoriya2026-01-16 02:42

Here’s hoping! I never watched the last episode because I didn’t to risk a crazy cliffhanger and my stupid library won’t stock the manga 😭

N7CombatWombat2026-01-16 02:47

I don't recall it being a cliffhanger ending, more of a set up ending. But, it has been a while since I last watched it, so I'm not 100% on that.

Bridoriya2026-01-16 02:53

Even if that’s the case it sucks being set for season two of season two never comes. There’s probably 200 anime I’m waiting to finish 😭

Sufficient_Mango23422026-01-16 02:10

No echi. Well that's redo of the healer out the windows. Nothing too dark is Overlord out.

Bridoriya2026-01-16 02:24

With the way modern anime is going I’m not actually sure where the title of your suggestion begins and ends 😅

I love his character but I agree there’s no other character exactly like him. In all fairness he was designed to be untouchable in a way no other anime character is so I think that’s understandable lol

abandoned_idol2026-01-16 03:09

The Fable

Warning though, the first 4 or so episodes might bore the hell out of you, but it's exactly the protagonist you crave.

Unphased combat badass

Tries to not use violence if given the option

His only skill is assassination

Bridoriya2026-01-16 03:20

Cool I’ll check it out, thanks!

abandoned_idol2026-01-16 03:35

The show becomes incredibly funny from the middle to the end. They do so many things you wouldn't expect.

The manga is still ongoing.

Bridoriya2026-01-16 03:36

I’m usually quick to drop an anime if it doesn’t capture my attention but I’ll be sure to watch at least the first five episodes per your suggestion
