I'm having a weird problem with anime
So this is just a post to talk about a weird thing I'm feeling with anime,if you're not into it then that's okay
So to sum it up I've been an anime for years now-since middle school-and throughout 2025 I've just felt bleak toward anime, especially in late 2025 where nothing just made me wanna watch it or anything even when I want to do so on the inside,I tried to stop-and I'm still doing so-but it's just making me not interested in it more so does anybody know how to deal with this?

Cut down on modern shows (nothing wrong with them inherently I am watching more seasonals of late however it can get samey), get away from more YA targeted media, pick up more genres you have watched less of would be my suggestion. There are other adjacent mediums like manga, LNs etc that have even more variety. If If I had a more narrow focus with this medium, I would have been done a long time ago.
Still you always have moments of just burnout, and that is when you need to take a break, and just get into other hobby, or just another media hobby. For me, reading has been a good break from anime.
As you watch more you slowly find out what show you actually like and you start to focus on only those genres.
Eventually you reach the point where you have basically watched everything and you watch less and less. Some people at this point don't watch anything for years and others just watch a couple of really hype shows a year.
It's a fairly normal thing and I wouldn't worry too much about it. Either take a break, watch a couple of shows or stop completely if you don't find enjoyment anymore. All options are okay.
And that's fine. There's no need to watch something just for the sake of watching. We're in an era that even if you miss a year of watching, you can go back and catch up on what all the fuss was. Just because you're a fan of something doesn't mean you are required to consume *everything.*
Take a break, and come back when you find something that piqued your interest again.
I know this seems simple, but why force yourself?
I have too much to do during the week to sit down to watch anime, but I make the time Saturday mornings, to watch the shows that interest me (as in, the shows I want to watch, not "Let's watch everything everyone is talking about because I want to be relevant") and then I don't get tired of watching anime, or feel the need to force myself, or feel bleak about it or what ever.
There are some anime that came out recently that I am very interested in though, like Apothecary Diaries, The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, and upcoming anime Hana Kimi & Liar Game.
