Hi zcith, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

Banana fish,
Bungo stray dogs (might not seem serious at first but gets more so as it goes on),
Monster (no supernatural elements whatsoever funnily enough, except sorta involving the main antag),
Undead unluck,
Tokyo revengers,
and Tokyo ghoul (The ghouls are canonically somewhat recently, last 10's of thousands to hundreds of thousands of years ago evolved from humans and are quite literally just humans with a power).

And I know you prolly have already seen death note, but i'll mention it just incase ngl.

Sufficient_Mango23422026-01-16 09:08

Also Pet is another great one I just remembered.

*Basilisk*

*technically vampires but Hellsing Ultimate is good*

*Black Lagoon*

Beneficial_Law_2862026-01-17 01:29

Elfen Lied is a good suggestion.

SharkfacePlaya2026-01-16 09:30

Samurai champloo has peak swordfighting, like SERIOUSLY underrated, cowboy bebop has really good hand to hand combat scenes and shootout scenes, and you can’t rule out baki unless you have tried the ORIGINAL series, the characters and fight scenes are 10x better. Then watch avatar because its the best show in the fucking world.

zcith2026-01-17 09:20

i’ve watched the original baki and dude i just hate it

SharkfacePlaya2026-01-17 16:54

Yeah thats totally reasonable, most of the show is bullshit. I highly enjoyed watching it though so i just wanted to make sure you at least tried it over the netflix version lmao

Left-Night-11252026-01-16 09:45

attack on titan

peanut_toast2026-01-16 11:47

Kingdom, just need to accept the first season is visually kinda crap because they used some bad cgi. But story wise it's peak, and the visuals get way better in S2 onwards.

Timthenounours_bis2026-01-16 15:35

Planetes is not about fighting humans in the beginning but it include guerilla/terrorism fighting a some point

sonicstorm11142026-01-16 16:04

Gundam- From what I've heard, the original Gundam was the first mecha anime to be a human vs. human war story as opposed to human vs. aliens/monsters

Exotic_Assistance_262026-01-16 20:36

Code Geass

Btooom!

The Fruit of Grisaia

Beneficial_Law_2862026-01-17 01:31

Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade is a decent anime movie and has people on people violence and no fantasy aspects in it either really. As someone else said in comments though "Elfen Lied" is a really good match. "Cowboy bebop" is very up that alley also they have good gun fights and such.
