Which anime should I start with?

Vinland Saga is a very good series imo.

AOT sure has its themes and deserved criticism, but overall still a good watch. The ending though...

Vinland saga is also gripping, that mellow out a bit at the back end, but still good.

So either huge ass monster fighting or Vikings.

You can also try Gachiakuta, that's recent and pretty damn good.

An underrated, gorgeous classic I'll always recommend is Katanagatari.

Naruto, without the filler episodes.

If you’re coming straight out of exams and want something that hooks you fast, start with Attack on Titan. It’s intense from episode one, lots of twists, big moments, and you’ll probably binge it without trying.

Vinland Saga is amazing too, but it’s slower and more reflective, especially season one and two. It hits harder emotionally if you’re in the mood to think, not just hype.

People call them boring only if they expect nonstop fights.

Seriously there are people that think AOT and Vinland are boring? wtf? AOT is peak imo, even with this controversial ending. Vinland is almost as good. And it's telling similar story but in the reverse, meaning it shows a character put in similar situation but he chose other path. Both shows are action packed but have some episodes, arcs, that are more plot-driven, there are no or almost no "fan service" in a typical anime fashion with some forced humor and silliness etc so I don't know what do you like. If you want more or less mindless action, power scaling then maybe you'll find it boring too, although I seriously cannot fathom how you can say that about those two.

For me these two shows are one of the best stories I've seen/read in this decade. And I'm talking all fiction, not only anime. They have action, killer plot twists, but they're also telling fascinating, deep story about humanity, human psyche, morality, destiny, philosophy, politics etc. You tell me if this is what you're looking for. Naruto in comparison with those two is a kids anime. And I like Naruto more or less.

Vinland saga is amazing and Attack On Titan is as well. If you want similar to those watch Berserk or FMA.
