pls recommend me ur top slice of life anime to watch when ur feeling down
i've been feeling emotionally, physically, and mentally exhausted these past few days. a lot has been happening around me, and it left me feeling overwhelmed and drained in a way that makes it hard to rest properly or even process things clearly. also, my last sem in uni is about to start in a week. :')
i usually turn to anime as a form of comfort. i'm especially drawn to slice of life because it feels gentle and grounding, and I tend to prefer stories that are somewhat realistic. that said, I’m okay with light fictional elements as long as the tone stays calm and reflective.
im not really in the headspace for romance or romance-driven plots. i think I just want something that focuses on daily life, routine, work, food, travel, or simply existing—something that doesn’t demand too much emotionally :)
i’d really appreciate if you could leave some comments. thank you, from my side of the world :')

do u not know what slice of life is lmao
I'll be never not be tired on recommending this anime if someone's looking for a good slice of life anime! This show is just perfect if you're stressed and burnt out and just looking something to watch to somewhat cool your head off.
Also check out Tanaka is Always Listless, just chill show and there's like no conflict at all, literally.

So after first few mins they'll drop it.
It's definitely a must watch and romance is kinda like come and go once or twice a season, but for someone avoiding them, not recommended ig.
It’s told in a non-linear kind of way. It brilliantly switches from funny moments to serious ones. Every episode is its own story. Very few “arcs” throughout the series. Characters say they will quit their jobs, but end up doing the same stuff over and over again. Very much slice of life.
The shows that really helped me are older: Aria the Animation and Tamayura. You can take a look through the [Iyashikei tag](https://myanimelist.net/anime/genre/63/Iyashikei) on MyAnimeList to see if a show stands out!

**My Teen Romantic Comedy Snafu S1** (Don't let the title sway you it doesn't have romance in season 1 at all, pure comedy, sol i rewatch when i'm down or bored atleast once every few months) stop after S1 and you can definitely feel some stress gone.
Now comes the actual list:
**1. Barakamon:** This is one of the best SOL anime i've watched till date with no romance at all iirc. it's themes are some childcare, sol, new countryside lifestyle and self relection through life experiences. it's a must watch for any SOL lovers.
2. **Silver Spoon:** There are some elements of infactuation in the anime but zero romantic developments. This anime is one of the few which bought me to tears without aiming for them. it's definitely not sad anime, but when i'm down and i rewatch it, kinda feels nice later. definitely recommend it. themes are school life with new experiences and self reflection. this doesn't appear in SOL filter and it's not very popular so just putting it there if you feel like it. definitely worth watching when feeling down.
3. **School Babysitters:** it's again school sol, with childcare. kinda feels nice to watch it. pretty sure there's no romance runing the enjoyment.
4. Kotaro Lives Alone: Honestly don't remember much but it was good while i watched it, so that's definition of SOL. i think it was again childcare based.
The no romance filter kinda filters out most of the SOLs, so yeah, these are the top which i loved and recommend. hope you find comfort and get back on feet. happy bingeing
Skip and Loafer is about a country girl moving to the city, its really wholesome and.. Well, it has SOME romance because she meets a boy she likes but its really not the main point of the story and I really think it nails some of your other requests.
Tari Tari is a slice of life about a high school music club, the setting is a beautiful quaint sea side town. It's not bad, but compared to things like K-On or Sound Euphonium ehh... I still like it though.
Little Witch Academias a fun one about magic and wizardry school.
Kobayashi's Dragon Maids one where a woman meets a dragon and turns out they are all pretty chill.
Hinamatsuri is more of a comedy but it definitely has some slice of life elements. Konosuba used to be my favorite but imo this one has better comedy and, I suppose its more realistic since it takes place in modern day.
Delicious in Dungeon pertains to the food request. A group of adventurers go exploring dungeons but a primary focus is the food they make out of the strange dungeon creatures. This is probably the best anime I've mentioned so far imo.

Ruri Rocks
Bocchi the rock
yuru camp is also very cozy and something to take your mind off, a group of girls going camping
[NinKoro](https://myanimelist.net/anime/58725/Ninja_to_Koroshiya_no_Futarigurashi) <-- i doubt anything in the show is to be taken seriously, i mean it's not like the entire story is made up of fillers / non-canonical events, but it was more of a popcorn flick for me, just sit back and enjoy it
[Azumanga Daiou](https://myanimelist.net/anime/66/Azumanga_Daiou_The_Animation) <-- it's one of those what did i just watch kind of comedy shows, but there's your answer, it's comedy, don't take it seriously if you don't want to be weirded out
[Yuru Yuri](https://myanimelist.net/anime/10495/Yuru_Yuri) <-- i think the little bit of romance is not serious at all in the show, at least it's not a drama show. It's mostly just some girls hanging out after school
[Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon](https://myanimelist.net/anime/33206/Kobayashi-san_Chi_no_Maid_Dragon) <-- again, i think it's another show you can watch without taking anything seriously
[Shinryaku! Ika Musume](https://myanimelist.net/anime/8557/Shinryaku_Ika_Musume) <-- i don't remember anything serious at all in this one
[Wataten](https://myanimelist.net/anime/37993/Watashi_ni_Tenshi_ga_Maiorita)
