>Fate Strange Fake's first episode is a recap of a special that came out 2 years ago
Reair, not recap. There's nothing stopping the writer from mentioning the first episode of new content, just like there are sequels on the list.
>and Golden Kamuy is flopping in it's 5th season.
I don't even know what are you trying to say.

>On MyAnimeList, season 1 of Golden Kamuy has 221,000 completions. Season 5 has 12,000 people watching 9 days after it's premiere, and for a better comparison season 4 has around 50,000 completed.
>I'm not saying that it's 100% because of the quality of the show, but I think it's probably not a great indication of quality to drop viewership by over 75% in the course of your run. Only 5% of people that watched and finished season 1 have started watching season 5 even!
That's completely irrelevant when it is 10 best premieres, not 10 most popular premieres.
>Golden Kamuy was at its peak or something like that.
It is.

Yeah, Golden Kamuy isn’t the type of show to draw a massive crowd, but virtually everyone who sticks with it agrees it‘s a truly great series. And everyone also knows Season 1 got off to a rough start, but it did get better especially in following seasons, hence why S1 has the “lowest” MAL score at 7.8 while the other seasons range from 8.1 to 8.4.
The only things on this list I would put in the same rank as GK is Frieren and maybe Trigun (personally, I found Stampede under appreciated, and I preferred this version not taking forever to introduce Knives, as the original anime didn’t really make me care about him as a villain given he only shows up in the final stretch of episodes).
From what I’ve heard, this is where JJK starts to falter in the manga (and honestly, even with the first two seasons, JJK is a series I like but don’t really love), and I’m glad I never got around to Oshi no Ko as I heard it gets BAD later on in the manga, I’ll just stick to Kaguya from that mangaka.

Oshi No Ko was my favorite. The beginning song/performance and the transition into the episode was top tier.

I look forward to watching jjk, when all ep out

Awesome that Journal with Witch made #1……but where’s Tamon’s B-Side?!?!?!

It is in the honorable mention area. (I just caught up yesterday, I really like it so far).

Well, I haven't watched any of the others on that list, but the fact that Ikoku Nikki's and Shiboyugi's are on it and high up, which I did watch, and were easily far and away the best first episodes of any of the seasonals I sampled thus far for this season, is reassuring.
No first episode of any other series I started even stood out as bad or particularly lackluster, but there is always just such a difference between the ordinary and those with such powerful writing, direction, etc. that it takes your breath away.
