It’s gotta be this. There are so many “watch order” videos online for the Fate series. There’s so many Fate iterations it’s hard for new viewers to know where to start. I myself have only watched the main (Zero, Stay Night, UBW) shows, and even I was somewhat confused by certain parts of the first two episodes

It could be watched as is own because they explain the holy grail but the thing with this one is that it has a lot of reference and fanservice from Fate (and even from others Type-Moon works). So having watched the previous Fate is necessary to enjoy even more the anime.

It is but people get themselves so confused trying to find a "watch order" that doesn't exist that is becomes more complex and daunting than it actually is, and if people *are* looking to get into the whole franchise everyone recommends going to Zero and UBW.

Yes mostly but also kind of no. It makes a LOT of references to other type moon stuff (beyond just Fate), but you don’t need to understand most of it to enjoy it. That said, familiarity with at least FS/N and especially Zero is super useful since this does technically take place after those events (even if it’s not technically the same timeline for a number of very convoluted reasons that don’t matter if you aren’t trying to get a PhD in the Nasuverse). Also weirdly enough the Fate GO Babylonia singularity (either the game or anime) is super helpful for understanding a few parts that might show up in a future season but won’t be this cour

Its Fate lol, the story and characters are always really good, the original VN for fate/stay night had some of the best written characters I’ve seen and although this author is different he still has a strong resume and it’s showed 3 episodes in.

Sentenced to be a Hero had a lot of anticipation before the season, with some of MT S1 staff being a part of it. Which is why it was ranked high for its episode 1.

Really don't think so knowing what the next JJK episode will cover and also most likely being one of the best episodes of the year since it's a high priority one that Gosso's been looking forward to for a long time to adapt. It's already been known to have a lot of big animators on it. The action and content/subjects that will be tackled are very good.
It's one of his favorite parts of the manga.

However
Apparently Aka is taking another shot at the ending of Kaguya sama Love is War with a new anime exclusive ending written by him. That opens the door to an anime original ending or even just expanded not-rushed ending for the Oshi no Ko anime as well

Pretty good top ten.
* **Sentenced to Be a Hero** continues to be very well adapted. Sure, the animation highs of episode 2 aren't as high as episode. But it doesn't need to be consistently that high. The staff is doing an outstanding job at translating the light novel into the anime medium very well. I love the pacing so far.
* **Shiboyugi** has been so far the most creative adaptation of the season. As someone who read the light novel, the anime gives a very unique experience. Which I love.
* **"You & I Are Polar Opposite"** is a must-watch for any RomCom fan. The manga was very good. But man, the adaptation quality that Lapin Track is giving is as perfect as you can ask for as a fan of the manga. This hits more of the Horimiya & Yano-Kun vibes with its ensemble cast.
* **Tamon's B-Side** is another RomCom that I urge any RomCom fan to try. It is male idol themed, but don't let that stop you from trying this one out. The cast is endearing, and the comedic execution is on point.

With ecchi and fanservice, it is how it is done. I haven't watched Fire Force, but from what I understand, it is everything anime fans would hate. Adds nothing and actually gets in the way of the storytelling.
I do think Mato is more interesting than your typical ecchi of the season. So just labeling it as just an ecchi show is unfair. As it does have action, plot, and world-building in it. Though, like I mentioned, the ecchi is the foundation of the show with the reward system.
Plus, you have series like Monogatari, Mushoku Tensei & Chainsaw Man that play around with ecchi topics in their storytelling, which are well regarded.

On top of the wacky release strategy I have no idea how non-Fate fans would be able to follow the show so far. It's been very dense it has been in both information about the game mechanics and references to various other Fate series.
It very much feels like it's for established Fate fans only, which I imagine Type Moon is pretty okay with since it's already a trillion yen franchise.

I was pretty disappointed by JJK episode 3. I assume they have a ton of lore and setup for what's coming, but it felt pretty lazy to just have a 20 minute power point presentation going over everything.
But it's just one episode, so hopefully now that's over they can get back to the show. It just felt like it could have been done better and more organically in the show. Rather than just have them in all in a white room not moving with slides popping up.

I think it was fairly tame, especially during the rescue of Captain Obi. Later in the cour it got really good, especially with the Seventh Pillar's big reveal. I'm certain they saved the animation budget for cour 2 (which has been amazing so far and we aren't even at Dragon yet)

I myself have only watched the main (Zero, Stay Night, UBW) shows, and even I was somewhat confused by certain parts of the first two episodes
All of these shows would have been top 3 on the list last season.
having seen all these episodes, for me Fate deserves a top 3 even in this season
Like sure watching Zero and UBW is useful. But in the end it’s just another fate with a chalice war
Im not saying it isnt or is, but for newcomers into the series so much confusion will cause them to stay away from the series.

Sentenced to be a Hero had a lot of anticipation before the season, with some of MT S1 staff being a part of it. Which is why it was ranked high for its episode 1.
Just the same feel what season 1 had.
Having the same feel as S1 is a huge positive also.
It's one of his favorite parts of the manga.
However
Apparently Aka is taking another shot at the ending of Kaguya sama Love is War with a new anime exclusive ending written by him. That opens the door to an anime original ending or even just expanded not-rushed ending for the Oshi no Ko anime as well
* **Sentenced to Be a Hero** continues to be very well adapted. Sure, the animation highs of episode 2 aren't as high as episode. But it doesn't need to be consistently that high. The staff is doing an outstanding job at translating the light novel into the anime medium very well. I love the pacing so far.
* **Shiboyugi** has been so far the most creative adaptation of the season. As someone who read the light novel, the anime gives a very unique experience. Which I love.
* **"You & I Are Polar Opposite"** is a must-watch for any RomCom fan. The manga was very good. But man, the adaptation quality that Lapin Track is giving is as perfect as you can ask for as a fan of the manga. This hits more of the Horimiya & Yano-Kun vibes with its ensemble cast.
* **Tamon's B-Side** is another RomCom that I urge any RomCom fan to try. It is male idol themed, but don't let that stop you from trying this one out. The cast is endearing, and the comedic execution is on point.
I try watching it as soon as it drops
I do think Mato is more interesting than your typical ecchi of the season. So just labeling it as just an ecchi show is unfair. As it does have action, plot, and world-building in it. Though, like I mentioned, the ecchi is the foundation of the show with the reward system.
Plus, you have series like Monogatari, Mushoku Tensei & Chainsaw Man that play around with ecchi topics in their storytelling, which are well regarded.
They always spook them with "you'll get spoiled!" instead of just letting them jump in head first into the pile.
There's so much Fate now that a few spoilers out of place is very unlikely to ruin the whole.

It very much feels like it's for established Fate fans only, which I imagine Type Moon is pretty okay with since it's already a trillion yen franchise.

But it's just one episode, so hopefully now that's over they can get back to the show. It just felt like it could have been done better and more organically in the show. Rather than just have them in all in a white room not moving with slides popping up.
Not the end of the world just my thoughts when watching it.

I think a lot of viewers would agree that #1 was better than #2 (which is not to trash #2, it's mostly because [Shiboyugi]>!#1 was the full game while #2 is mostly the setup!<), so if it climbed like that, seems to be word of mouth!

Nobody expected **Sentenced To Be A Hero, Shiboyugi**, and **Tamon's B-Side** to be that high. It only placed 11th, 21st, and 17th in the Most Anticipated Ranking. Good to see **Polar Opposites** in the top 10.

I am sort of surprised by how high Sentenced to be a Hero is, but then again, even I couldn't escape all the animation glazers. I guess it will be rather popular.
