I agree with this suggestion
10/10 anime
LilSopa__2026-01-16 20:15
Frieren is popular, beginner friendly, and has an airing season 2 right now. I couldn't think of a better option tbh.
Alt22212026-01-16 20:33
honestly i think if a person had never seen anime before they would completely miss the most interesting thing about Frieren.
LilSopa__2026-01-16 20:40
Why?
Basilisk_Says2026-01-16 22:33
The journey with Himmel was a classic anime design. Setting the entire thing in the aftermath is part of what makes the series so unique.
LilSopa__2026-01-16 22:35
What does the story being unique have to do with how much he will enjoy it? You think fantasy and adventure is fixed to anime or something?
Basilisk_Says2026-01-16 22:38
No, just pointing out that missing that genre context means he won't get that specific part of the vibe. I'll recommend Frieren, but not Konosuba because that series only really makes sense if you're already isekai pilled.
LilSopa__2026-01-16 22:49
What genre context? A hero party kills the demon lord? That's literally been there way before it has been popular in anime. Look at all the rol games out there that derive from a premise like that. Uniqueness doesn't affect how someone enjoys a show, you just like how it's not the same isekai slop that airs every season.

‘Delicious in dungeon’ is pretty easy watching.

full metal panic

Try these :
1) Blue lock
2) Chainsaw man
3) Fire force
4) zom 100: bucket list of the dead
5) solo levelling
Shad0w_malfoy2026-01-17 03:24
chainsaw man is NOT for beginers 😭I love it but still I dont think its for all kinds of public
Skaven132026-01-16 20:46
Lord of Mysteries and Castlevania are really good Starter Anime, because they don't really have the typical Anime tropes some people find annoying.
bububbbta2026-01-16 20:54
Saiki K. its peak comady
taru4004c_2026-01-16 21:03
You should really watch demon slayer or something simple as your first anime and then gradually move up to more complex storylines such as aot.
Slothjester2026-01-16 21:05
One Punch Man or Konosuba for some laughs.
Taku_Ou2026-01-16 21:28
Saiki k it’s a nice and sweet comedy and you can’t rlly spoil too much about it
What genres do you like? Do you prefer action, thrillers, comedy, etc.? What is your tolerance for weirdness?

I personally would push people towards "Full Metal Alchemist brotherhood" as it has a bit of everything it has very serious moments, funny moments, semi romance type moments, plenty of action, brutally sad moments. It's a really well put together anime and it tracks more like a very long movie then a anime series.
MPCO7772026-01-17 10:03
fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood is probably one of the best starter animes. Watch till either ep 10 or 19, you will be hooked. Probably one of the best and my favourite ending in all of anime as well.
