Can anyone give me any other suggestions to watch?

So I am slowly getting into anime. I am just wondering if anyone can give me any recommendations?

This is what I’ve enjoyed so far:

Spy x Family

Seven Deadly Sins

Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse

Akira (really enjoyed this movie)

Digimon (only up to season 3 plus Digimon Tri. Want to watch frontier but can’t find it anywhere to stream in Canada)

Yu-gi-oh ( only up until learning about the pharaoh’s origin. Nothing past that)

Sailor moon (rewatched, watched when I was younger)

Card Captor (rewatched, watched when I was younger)

Sakamoto Days

Inuyasha

Currently am watching Demon Slayer and Black Clover and I have Hunter x Hunter and Apothecary Diaries on my watch list.

I couldn’t get into One Piece. I tried lol

Hi isamabella, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

If you liked the blend of slice of life moments with action from Spy x Family, I think you might enjoy Lycoris Recoil

isamabella2026-01-17 07:16

Thank you! I will look into that one ☺️

ClemFire2026-01-17 07:19

Great! Hope you enjoy it

As a new anime watcher, I think it should be a requirement to at least get through the first 300 episodes of one piece lol. Watch the shorter “One Pace” if you must. It’s worth it.

So many good ones you have not seen yet.

Jujitsu kaisen
Gurren Lagan
And maybe in My hero academia

Gurren Lagan for sure

isamabella2026-01-17 07:16

I have added Gurren Lagan and Jujitsu Kaisen to my list. I have just been reading about the story so they definitely sound interesting.

Honestly yesterday I watched the first five episodes of One Piece and it just didn’t hook me. I know it’s good I just can’t seem to get into it. Is it because it’s a slow build up??

IntentlyFaulty2026-01-17 07:18

I know it’s a meme at this point, but One Piece genuinely does not get good until several hundred episodes in. It’s an extremely slow burn and the early episodes are painfully slow. It gets much much better. When the show ends (if it ever does) you will want to be there and in the loop.

Def do NOT read up on an anime’s story beforehand lol. You risk ruining the whole thing!

isamabella2026-01-17 07:21

Ok I’ll give it another chance lol I didn’t realize it was that much of a slow burn 😅

IntentlyFaulty2026-01-17 07:27

But go watch One Pace. It’s a cut down version that removes all of the filler and extremely slow pacing.

dontoff2026-01-17 08:08

Yeah, that’s an unreasonable ask. Three hundred episodes is crazy. He should just read the manga or watch one of the dozens of other great shows.

IntentlyFaulty2026-01-17 08:34

I’m not telling anyone to do anything. I’m just stating what I have heard. Reading the manga is a good option.

All I know is that I quit watching too. Until someone kept telling me it got good, and I caught up and I don’t regret it at all. Glad I did it. It’s a masterpiece

dontoff2026-01-17 10:32

That's great that you enjoyed it, but the pacing is a killer. Studio WIT's remake will come eventually, so he can just watch other stuff until then. You're right though, it gets amazing later on in the story, as a manga reader who dropped the anime.

Just go through the top 500 TV series on MyAnimeList and see what interests you

isamabella2026-01-17 07:23

I’ve been looking at lists I just wanted other people’s opinions based on what I’ve already watched and where I could ask questions lol

Virtual_Technology_92026-01-17 07:19

Maybe focus on newer stuff

Jujutsu kaisen, Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, Black Clover.

A bit on a crude side is chainsaw man (very popular its just a bit unhinged)

isamabella2026-01-17 07:25

I don’t mind unhinged; I seem to really enjoy ones with magic or with really good fights lol

I’ll definitely look into chainsaw man tho ☺️

Virtual_Technology_92026-01-17 07:31

Magic wise a really good show is Frieren Beyond Journeys End.

It is incredible. Season 2 just started. Great action great lessons.

If i was in your place,

I would first finish and catch up on Demon Slayer and Black clover.

Watch frieren 29 episodes, jjk 50 episodes and a movie, chainsawman 12 episodes and a movie.

Then you can stick to longer shows like hxh, apothecary diaries and attack on titan.

Psycho Pass

Fire Force. I recommend watching with head phones. The sound effects will blow you away!

Soul Eater, same mangaka as Fire Force.
