Give me an anime so good I’ll rewatch it like 5 times

Looking for anime that hits even harder the 2nd time.
Can be anything: action, romance, thriller, slice of life.
What’s your **#1 rewatch anime** and why?

Hi Physical_Card_700, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

I have a feeling people will hate me for this but i gotta go with my goat sword art online

mariann_12026-01-17 15:59

But why you understand everything when you watch the first time

FriskyFrisker212026-01-17 16:03

It's not about understanding it but the anime itself seems just such a good story for me and i like to watch it again from time to time.

FlahTheToaster2026-01-17 15:50

Bang Brave Bang Bravern. In fact, it practically demands multiple watches.

duncandun2026-01-17 15:56

Hell yeah

ShinyMcShine19782026-01-17 15:52

Steins;Gate... Because you don't understand everything after the first watch, think you get it after the second. Use the alternate order for the third and discover new things at the 4th and 5th as well... :D
Oh and of course: Makise Kurisu
(AOT would be a close second for multiple re-watches).

Duhamhim2026-01-17 15:53

HxH the temptation to rewatch is giving me crackhead shakes

LordDShadowy532026-01-17 15:53

Steins Gate

The more times you watched it, the better it gets because you start to notice all the hints were planned from the beginning.

LostLab88522026-01-17 15:54

Personally I would have to go with code geass it is extremely good infact my dad has watch it three times

jachyra42026-01-17 15:56

Can confirm: I have watched this anime at least five times.

DarkoSchizo2026-01-17 15:55

I haven't rewatched any anime, but it will definitely be Gintama.

jeynxv2026-01-17 15:55

HxH I genuinely always feel the urge to rewatch like a call from the void

WeirdPeace69292026-01-17 15:56

Watching vinland saga rn, i can already feel i will be rewatching the shit out of it.

ShiRonium2026-01-17 15:57

I'd say AOT is up there for using a lot of foreshadowing you won't notice the first time you see the show

coder_20832026-01-17 15:57

Monogatari

Placeholder_69692026-01-17 15:59

Haikyuu

zool7142026-01-17 16:02

I’ve rewatched Flying Witch about 5 times. So I’d probably recommend that

TrainingNobody15662026-01-17 16:02

Attack in Titan...Watched it like 4-5 times ....Try it and you'll know why

1Skarabee2026-01-17 16:02

The ones I’ve rewatched the most are Mushoku Tensei and Re:Zero. Monogatari series is also very rewatchable

Moshimoshi-Megumin2026-01-17 16:03

Oregairu (romcom drama)- first time is hard because there’s a lot of subtext, a lot of the communication is looks and body language, it’s hard to understand what’s going on sometimes. Every rewatch lets you get more of the subtext and foreshadowing. I had it at 5/10 on first watch, I’ve seen it a dozen times since and it’s my top 1 now.

Summer Pockets (supernatural mystery/slice of life/romance) - can’t give much details without spoiling. It’s a beautiful show, very emotional and bittersweet, and you don’t really know what it’s about, or who the actual MC is, until very late.

Rascal does not dream (supernatural mystery/slice of life/romance) - it’s a complex and very well done plot with a lot of moving pieces, rewatches lets your really appreciate that

One piece. Enjoy the 5x

These are my favorites! Banana fish (very sad but good), No.6, Terror In Resonance and Sk8 Infinity!

SpaceDry88822026-01-17 16:40

Steins Gate

ComprehensiveWeb54742026-01-17 18:07

Haikyuu all the way
Or the promised neverland S1

Euphoric_Log_3252026-01-18 00:38

I just rewatched Frieren and enjoyed even more than the first time. The Fate trilogy (zero, unlimited blade works and Heaven's Feel) are a good rewatch, because once you get the lore and main plot out of the way, it is easy to simply enjoy the great character development.
