Can love bloom between a plump idol and a Shocker Kaijin? With another man in the middle?

Well, things between Sena and Kumota have definitely escalated...she brought him back to her place! She thinks him talking about Shocker related stuff means he's Chuuni! And that's actually even MORE of a turn on for her! And Kumota is totally bewildered by this girl.

Sena loves ramen! And she knows being an idol is how she's going to be able to KEEP eating ramen...which is also why she's Masked Idol, Iron Chop! Who dances and eats ramen with gusto! It might sound insane, but she's actually pulling it off! And Kumota just can't take his eyes off of her!

And thus did the two suddenly, inexplicably, begin cohabiting together. Kumota takes care of things for Sena, Sena gives Kumota a lap pillow (and apparently he summons spiders while he naps), and they both eat ramen together. It's completely bonkers, yet somehow it works!

But then Sena's first love, Hakkyokutsu (Tomokazu Seki!) shows up to deliver on his promise to her. Did this suddenly become a love triangle?! Somehow!?

Back when Sena was skinny and working to make her break with Junko, a bird stole her precious Bronze Medal Meat Bun (Junko even filmed it!) but Hakkyokutsu saved it...and ate it himself. Because he was so desperate for food and sustenance, and even devoured the milk Sena gave him. And thus did their relationship begin.

Hakkyokutsu is a man driven by his animal instincts, when deep down he wants to just be someone who makes ramen...and the chuuni stuff is what made Sena fall head over heels for him. Too bad he couldn't be satisfied making instant ramen for her, beginning his quest to be able to make the Ultimate Gold Medal ramen for her. He even learned the lost art of Onion Ramen, and helped breathe new life into a ramen shop!

I guess the only way to settle this is for the two men to face off. That's right! Sena has two guys fighting over her! What a world. And Hakkyokuysu is actually legit, able to manhandle Kumota in human form with his Bajiquan. It's telling that Kumota sees him and is reminded of Tojima!

It shows how much Sena means to Kumota that he was THIS close to transforming into a Kaijin but he stops himself...because he can't help but want to continue this human life he has now and learn more about humans.

Sena finally eats the Gold Medal Ramen...and it's utterly fantastic to the point where she collapses in her own drool. And if you don't love a girl looking like that, you don't deserve her! Now Sena's got two guys aiming for her heart, even though her #1 is...ramen.

Ramen Edition

fer_sure2026-01-17 21:24

I was kinda waiting for her to say there was enough of her to go around.

ObvsThrowaway51202026-01-17 18:20

Heavy Chop is a powerful force of nature. She totally tamed Spider Guy lol. Girl really does attract some weirdos huh? Hachiro’s an….interesting one. Bro went walk about Japan to learn to make the perfect ramen lol. He also apparently possesses godlike strength. Dude’s a mystery haha.

diacewrb2026-01-17 19:25

>Bro went walk about Japan to learn to make the perfect ramen lol. He also apparently possesses godlike strength.

He is the Ramen Rider.

Magister72026-01-17 19:28

You know, I can see this show making that kind of joke, and I won't even be mad.

...much.

Trymv12026-01-18 06:56

I swear to god if they drop a 'Ramen Kaiser' or wordplay joke of that actual effect I'll march straight back here and type really loudly at you.

abandoned_idol2026-01-18 00:13

So what's up with Kumo Otoko's spider summons showing up during his sleep?

I can't stop laughing.

cppn022026-01-17 18:23

That 'Oh yeah' at the start. I fucking died.

[](#azusalaugh)

And then he even moved in with her? Those flashbacks were so extra too. Now I want a whole show about Sena and her love life.

I wonder if that other guy's gonna join the gang or if he was just a one-off character.

Niwaka_Samurai2026-01-17 19:38

'Oh yeah' really caught me off guard lol

Muffin-zetta2026-01-17 20:25

Duff man

PeaceAlien2026-01-17 18:27

Power of Raman outweighs strength and love. Maybe Food Wars was right all along

karer3is2026-01-17 23:03

Her face after she ate that ramen certainly seems to say so LMAO

zsmg2026-01-17 18:30

I admit I didn't care much for this idol arc, glad next week we're going back to focusing on our regular crew.

Pickled_Kagura2026-01-17 19:13

I thought it was funny but I was really hoping the back half/third of the episode was going to be a return to the main gang.

abandoned_idol2026-01-18 00:17

I imagine that Sena, Kumo, and Ramen will likely be "teaming up" as an opposing faction to the main party.

Kumoko Otoko is power-up-shiteiru!

TyraniTEMPESTar2026-01-17 18:38

*"There's obviously something wrong with him"*.
I think the same can be said about everyone in this show lol

BoyTitan2026-01-17 20:19

Spider Boss, and Futuba are the two most normal people in the show. They are insane but less insane than everyone else.

Drakon5902026-01-18 22:35

Understatement of the century

CelioHogane2026-01-19 15:58

Somehow, Man Spider is the most normal person on this show.

Daemoniklesreddit2026-01-19 22:51

The fact that the monster is the most sane One out of everyone is hilarious.

thisisdropd2026-01-17 18:45

Sena mistaking Kumota for being a chuuni is hilarious. Meanwhile the latter's completely confused with the recent events. He knew about fighting and domination – and nothing else.

LeonKevlar2026-01-17 18:48

Just when I thought that this show can't surprise me anymore, we get an episode dedicated to [a masked idol who eats ramen on her streams](https://i.imgur.com/YQNGB0P.jpeg) and [a Shocker Kaijin living together.](https://i.imgur.com/MKoX4Tp.jpeg) Man-Spider just basically went with the flow and [found himself a girlfriend](https://i.imgur.com/c12P2ty.jpeg) even though he has no idea what he's doing.

[So it's pretty clear that Sera has a type.](https://i.imgur.com/7O6Gsc4.jpeg) The girl loves his weird white-haired men. We didn't really get an explanation for Hyakkoku's backstory, [but it looks like he might've been an underground fighter](https://i.imgur.com/Pon2aZY.jpeg) who makes money from the fights.

And we get to see how talented Hyakkoklu is [when basically kicks Man-Spider's ass with his Bajiquan.](https://i.imgur.com/saSEzGf.jpeg) Also, please tell me I'm not the only one who's getting Kamen Rider vibes from him? He feels like an actual Kamen Rider protagonist before he gets a Driver.

BlazeKnightX2026-01-17 20:06

Can't forget she loves her men when they have chuuni delusions even if those aren't delusions.

Frostbitten_Moose2026-01-18 05:09

Red flags means your ship is three times faster.

Trymv12026-01-18 07:02

Three times faster to escape all those tweens who are *way too into you*.

polycontrale2026-01-18 13:29

The whole thing with her telling him a story about her being a princess and him being like wtf are you on about, and her just being like I guess you didn't like that backstory... pure gold.

NK13372026-01-18 15:53

The fucking chuuni fetish killed me 😭😂

yancovigen2026-01-17 20:29

With how well he fought against man-spider I was kinda surprised he wasn’t another Kamen Rider nutcase like the main characters lol

AnikRAGE2026-01-17 19:11

The fuck is this show even about anymore? Mid season food warsshi no ko arc

abandoned_idol2026-01-18 00:16

It's about love!

Dirty_Dragons2026-01-18 18:32

The anime has now been renamed to "Love and Ramen" or "Love is Ramen."

Frostbitten_Moose2026-01-18 05:12

I'm just assuming this is to insanity what [Everywhere at the End of Time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJWksPWDKOc&t=31s) is to dementia.

My_neutered_cat2026-01-17 19:15

This was a surprisingly good episode

xolon62026-01-17 19:17

He actually smiled?!! Now he's a Kawaii Kaijin :3

BoyTitan2026-01-17 20:17

My little Kaijin can't be this Kawaii episode 1.

abandoned_idol2026-01-18 00:15

I was already in love with Kumo Otoko, but now he's dating Sena-chan?

It's as if the show were writing fan fiction tailored for me.

I can't wait to meet even more characters!

HolyDragSwd25002026-01-17 19:19

Narrator

Todays winner: Ramen 🍜

NanDemoKnaives2026-01-17 19:21

Lol this doesn't even feel like I'm watching the same anime. So Hachirou wasn't even her ex-boyfriend? It didn't even look like they spent much time together before he disappeared. The two of them have such strong attachments to one another.

It was funny how Sena looked so happy when she said "Stop fighting over me!". She's living her shoujo life.

I have no idea where the story is going but I want Hachirou to meet the Kamen Riders.

tatobson2026-01-19 20:50

Were you able to predict anything this show throws at us before?
I resigned myself to enjoy the ride.

diacewrb2026-01-17 19:27

From Kamen to Ramen today.

Seta could be one of the Four Ramen Emperors.

PreparedStatement2026-01-17 19:54

Or maybe she's oblivious to the whole thing, just like Chika?

HolyDragSwd25002026-01-17 20:22

Ramen Rider has arrived

FlashFirePrime2026-01-17 19:35

This show has literally never had a bad or below average episode so far. Sena and Spiderman is a cute couple, idk if Hyakkoku will return or not but it'd be cool.

AAA_BATT2026-01-17 19:36

getting cucked by ramen is crazy

Rejestered2026-01-18 20:34

No man can give what ramen does, we must accept our place.

Niwaka_Samurai2026-01-17 19:36

Damn, what the hell did I watch !? How did the plot switch to this direction. This anime never ceases to amaze me every week.

Sena thought that the spiderman kaijin is a Chūnibyō and fell in love with him more when he actually was speaking the truth lmao
Her streaming 'Masked idol eating Ramen' was funny as hell. She even made him feel things that he would never have dreamt of before. And Sena even had a first love with another funny guy Hachiro. His dedication to spend two years after leaving her to come up with a top Ramen recipe just to repay her for eating her anpan was extremely insane 😭😭..the ramen even made her go super-saiyan and Hachiro finally accepted his defeat to ramen 🤣😂

Hachiro being a Hakkyoku-ken user and having the power to overwhelm the Spiderman Kaijin was really amazing. The Kaijin really chose the right people to study humans 😅😂

Mistral-Fien2026-01-17 19:37

Seems like the ex-BF is voiced by Seki Tomokazu (関　智ー).

Hope we see more of him, but it seems this mini-arc is over.

HolyDragSwd25002026-01-17 20:21

Invoking his inner Doman Kashu here

Was a guest star in No 1 Sentai Gozygers

Mistral-Fien2026-01-17 20:59

He was in a short toku series named [Voicelugger](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voicelugger), alongside other voice actors/actresses and singers like the legendary Ichiro Mizuki.

Unlikely-Interview882026-01-17 19:41

This anime would do anything beside developping its main character

AccomplishedForm40432026-01-17 19:51

Spider man is the main cast

YdenMkII2026-01-17 19:47

The spiderman learns how what it means to be a human through the power of love for ramen.

AdRecent23582026-01-17 19:47

Everyone is getting screen time and character development except the main character. At this point the title of the anime is literal clickbait. I don’t even know what it’s even about anymore, I might be dropping it if this keeps up.

Muffin-zetta2026-01-17 20:26

He doesn’t need character development he is his ideal self already

AccomplishedForm40432026-01-17 19:48

This is the best thing out right now. It’s a shame it’s not more popular. Fat idol episodes are hilarious

ShawnHeatherly2026-01-17 19:50

Spider Man really just needed to stumble upon a copy of Plus-Sized Elf to become a good person.

MegaMeteorite2026-01-17 19:55

This Hakkyoku guy has such a strong secondary rider vibe, the way he's characterized, this specific mix of silliness and awesomeness is just so Tokusatsu.

DugACCat2026-01-17 19:59

This show is completely and utterly insane. 🤣

PreparedStatement2026-01-17 20:00

A show that simultaneously takes itself seriously while not taking anything seriously is what I live for, seriously.

Trymv12026-01-18 07:04

You laugh at all the goofy hijinks then stop and go 'oh yeah, people were *horribly murdered* like an episode or two ago.

Jambo_Slooce2026-01-18 07:24

That’s a really good description of this show! I love it.

Next_Package_57102026-01-17 20:07

Is there going to be a redemption arc for Man Spider dude? Also why is Man Spider dude black and white only?

Siegberg2026-01-18 00:16

I think he will be a split faction which prefers humans siding with them by choice instead of brainwashing and may cooperate with Kamen Raiders to oust the batman faction. Not really redemption just a lesser evil.

raveno192026-01-17 20:21

So...

The episode is about triangle love between a monster, a mukbang idol and a ramen maker (seem like an underground fighter in the past)...

I thought i watched a Gintama ep in a moment.

Well, seem like the next ep we are back with Rider's business.

Individual-Cake-69582026-01-18 07:33

possibly a Persona user when he was in high school

BlazeKnightX2026-01-17 20:24

Dashi! Ninniku!

Ramen Rider! Ramen Rider! Ramen Rider! Ramen Rider! Ramen Rider! Ramen Rider! Ramen Rider! Ramen Rider!

Chashu!

Heavy Chop\~!

This is a parody on the secondary rider of Kamen Rider Zero One, Vulcan's standby loop.

Muffin-zetta2026-01-17 20:41

Oh shit it’s yu narikami the protagonist of persona 4

Novca2026-01-18 00:32

I was wondering why he seems so familiar.

aallx2026-01-18 12:55

He is Narukami Yuki Akira

Muffin-zetta2026-01-18 13:03

Isn’t akira the persona 5 protagonist?

aallx2026-01-18 13:24

Akira Yuki is the Bajiquan style fighter in Virtua Fighter.

Muffin-zetta2026-01-18 13:43

Yeah, but he looks exactly like the persona 4 protagonist. What are trying to correct me on?

merubin2026-01-18 17:35

the other person was just expanding on your joke by adding Yuki Akira from VF who is a bajiquan user, turning it from Narukami Yu to Narukami Yu-ki Akira

why do you need a joke to explained to you

HolyDragSwd25002026-01-18 14:10

Completed Sena Social Link

OtherwiseProgrammer92026-01-18 17:00

He had to get Kindness lvl 5 to be able to make the perfect ramen

Infamous-Driver-91732026-01-17 21:02

I am really getting tired of this cringe... Thankfully next episode is serious kind of...

Muffin-zetta2026-01-17 23:30

See a little too much of yourself in it?

DragonPup2026-01-17 21:10

I know this story gets pretty weird but I admit I was surprised when the Persona 4 MC showed up.

And I feel that they sort of lampshaded all of Sena's group being murked.

yawnman2402026-01-17 21:25

Brilliant episode! So inspired and fun. Telenovela-esque drama for sure.

Good drawing at the end, are these all fanart or by staff?

mmcjawa_reborn2026-01-17 21:35

Toujima is becoming more and more sane with each new character intro. I in some ways want to feel bad for Spiderman...if he wants to learn more about humanity, I really hope he doesn't decide that Sena or Ramen dude pass for normal humanity.

Really hoping all these tangents start actually merging together, and we stop getting new characters though. Don't get me wrong though...I am entertained each week with the random directions this series go...

Kiyo_is_my_Hime2026-01-17 21:53

I've watched enough Fate that I could recognize the Bajiquan before they said it. Surprisingly wholesome episode.

Muffin-zetta2026-01-17 23:33

If you can’t recognize a good tetsuzanko (the official name of the elbow/hip thrust move))are you even a anime fan.

guntanksinspace2026-01-18 05:18

Tetsuzanko is the shoulder barge. The elbow thing I think is the Rimon Chochu.

I play just enough VF Akira to know some of these. There was also the forward punch, and the double palms.

Zaygr2026-01-18 08:20

Also Leo and Julia Chang from Tekken.

Jas_God2026-01-17 21:53

Lmfao I fucking love this show.

PencilgonGiveIt2Ya2026-01-17 22:36

Such a random little arc and I am all for it lol.

ImpenetrableYeti2026-01-17 22:48

Feel bad for Spider Man, he just keeps coming across people he can't beat.

Excited for Rider Kick next episode.

french_kebab_monster2026-01-17 23:52

filler épisode

abandoned_idol2026-01-18 00:19

Not necessarily. We might see these new clowns fight later on.

A show needs well-written antagonists in addition to well-written protagonists.

Kumo Otoko needed his character deve- pffft, his character develop- hahaha, character arc!

He now understands the power of Ramen.

Solracziad2026-01-18 00:14

What...am I even watching anymore...? Like is the rest of the show just going to be following this plus sized Idol and her love life. Is it now a romcom?

foxbase2026-01-18 00:19

That girl has godlike pull

abandoned_idol2026-01-18 00:20

This anime is exactly the type of grounded, heart-warming, and suspensive drama that I crave!

Sena-chan has netted herself not one, but two ikemen. As to be expected of the Sea Lioness. She now wields the power of both Ramen and Spiders!

Doomroar2026-01-18 00:54

Man spider was a chubby chaser all along!

It developed into a love triangle!?

GaimeGuy2026-01-18 02:18

... well that was an episode

Grazalia2026-01-18 02:51

What the hell I feel like I went through 3 whole different character arcs just now. What in the world 😂
Imagine recommending this show but using this episode as the lead in.

Dude knows Bajiquan damn what a pull

I God damn thought Sena was about to go Super Saiyan.

Jacob-C2026-01-18 03:09

Ngl, Sena's love life is the most invested I've been in the story since the tournament arc. When the author beat my inner, previously unacknowledged, Kamen Rider fan to a pulp.

Boshea2412026-01-18 03:19

I feel like I just watched an episode for a completely different series.

Frostbitten_Moose2026-01-18 05:20

Just curious, who are those people in the OP, and what connection do they have to this show? I know the guy from the ED slipped into the Ramen and got devoured by the idol in a blink and you miss it cameo.

ohoni2026-01-19 06:05

Crunchyroll mislabeled the shows again. This was the first episode of the romance anime of the season, "Masked Idol, Heavy Chop."

CheeseDaver2026-01-18 04:04

For an episode featuring none of the main characters, this one made me cracking up the most. This show is a comedic masterpiece.

guntanksinspace2026-01-18 05:28

Holy damn, Sena sure loves her red flag edgelord ikemen.

daspaceasians2026-01-18 05:35

Hachiro is such a hilariously random addition to the show. Bro shows up, seduces Sena by being accidentally chuuni, realizes he has to make the best ramen, leaves to learn the way of the ramen, shows up again, fights with Spider-man with hidden martial skills, makes the best ramen for Sena, realizes he can't win against Sena's love for ramen and leaves to become better than ramen.

What a man.

lazylonewolf2026-01-18 06:46

NTR means NetoRamen right?

yakumbaya2026-01-18 07:16

Holy shit he actually smiled at the end lmao. random ass episode but i loved it peak comedy

melvinlee882026-01-18 07:49

Anime of the year 2026.

I will not elaborate.

Had me laughing more than any anime for the last 2 years.

MAZZ0Murder2026-01-18 13:18

So I mindlessly though the title meant we'd be seeing someone who was a fan of Amazon show up... based on last episode s preview I assumed the new dude... but then I was getting Super-1 vibes from him based on his stances, but that could just be me overthinking it.

Seemed like a silly episode but at least they humanized the Spider Man more.

CaptainSmeg2026-01-18 15:07

At least the plot returns next week after 2 eps of filler

Charlton_AB2026-01-18 15:12

Dumb question from someone who knows no Japanese, there's no way that Hachiro Hakkyoku is related to Hachiro Nakao right?

I also want to say good work to the animation team for making Hachiro Hakkyoku visually different... enough from good old Kumota in the anime, because they look absurdly similar in the manga.

athrun_12026-01-18 15:37

Based on this ep, I think the flow if this show will be like this:

Spider man will drift from shocker's original plan of world domination, given that he is slowly interested on humans. Bat man will try to eliminate him and either he dies but will turn the guys he met into "monsters" (like true kamen riders) or he lives and will fight shocker alongside with his new super-powered friends.

Just when you thought this show was nuts it turns it up to 11.

It's entertaining, though I don't even know what I'm watching anymore.

idk which one is more insane, spider man just move in with sena or sena got that fat with just 2 years or hachirou is as strong as toujima without being kamen rider fan

The new guy Hachirou maybe another reference to the author's previous Air Master btw. In that series, there is a fighter who is completely obsessed with the Virtual Fighter fighting game'MC Akira - a Bajiquan practitioner and copied his appearances/techniques 100%
