TLDR: intros spoil the anime sometimes, ellipses and dashes at the end of subtitles spoil a surprise or jumps-scare.

For years i skipped them because of the songs, or because of the length. im inpatient and i want to watch my show. [(except the Water Magician OP, i watch it every time lol it slaps!)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQwk6ztpoXM) I think this is my favorite intro of all time. it sounds good, shows off the characters personality without spoiling major plot points.

most amines are 22mins long. 5 mins of that is split between a start and end song / credits.

I love when the credits are woven into the start of the show, it makes me actually want to watch them.

But recently i have been skipping the intros because of ***SPOILERS.*** In the opening credits of most shows the main character is shown doing things from the story. small things are fine, but most times they shows major plot points, or characters they meet along the way...i want to be surprised.

i try to cover my eyes and skip through it lol. or just listen to when the song stops

Though i always watch the intros / outros on the final episode, it will probably be my final time watching it!

**Mini tangent:** i hate when subtitles end with a " **...** " or a " **-** " I immediately know that the character will be cut off and something will happen, spoiling a potential surprise.
