What shows would you suggest that really get the brain working, that make you think?
I am looking for some deep thinking Philosophical and Metaphysical. I find myself rewatching the same shows over and over, because they are fun watches and easy to have as background during work or whatever. I am usually rotating the shonen animes through the year DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, HxH are all great not to mention FMA, Demon Slayer, JJK, and AoT. My true love about animes is when they get you thinking outside yourself. Possibly because the first few anime I saw as a teenager were Trigun, Evangelion, FLCL and Akira, and most recently SoA: Alicization. Studio Ghibli movies also get the synapsis firing. So I am looking for some other suggestions. - Thanks in Advance

Your welcome in advance
Not finding this one anywhere.
Ghost in the Shell the series is fun and generally has interesting takes. I find it easier to recommend the series than the movie, even though the 1996 movie IS good too.
From the New World looks very interesting, definitely gonna check it out.
episode one to 12 arefilled with foreshadowing
Boogiepop Phantom
Serial Experiments Lain
Ergo Proxy
* **Shin Sekai Yori** (From the New World) if you question the nature of society, human morals and crave for an obscure, dystopian, well-written world
* **Sonny Boy**
* Especially if you liked FLCL
* Will touch your heart if you feel going adrift in life, isolated or confined
* Impenetrable at times, philosophical, and with an unpredictable world building
* **Houseki no Kuni** (Land of the Lustrous)
* Technically sublime, explores themes like life, death, memory, connection and society, body and gender, and offers incredible battle scenes with an otherworldly setting
* **Orb: On the Movements of the Earth**
* The one only story where the protagonist is an idea. Just a tip: before deciding whether to drop or not, watch until end of episode 3.
* The entire **Monogatari Series** starting from **Bakemonogatari**
* An epic journey in the life of characters that you will end up loving, and whom will make you reflect on the relationships around you, your traumas and the choices you made and will make in life. It has a vibrant direction and offers a witty writing with fascinating characters, superlative action and lots of dialogues that won't be able to bore you as they will get you out of yourself.
They are all incredibly different from each other - if you don't like one, move on to the other. Yet, they all provide a unique, unforgettable experience that will make you question your values and ways of looking at life. Still nowadays they sustain me in ways that fill me with mystery, joy, company, bliss and gratitude.
Masaaki Yuasa's work is worth checking out too.

Turn A Gundam 49 episodes + 1 recap
(You don't NEED to have watched other Gundam to get this one, though a Gundam or three under the belt helps add emphasis on the themes!)
Also if you wanna watch Hideki Anno's favorite Gundam and where he got the inspiration for Misato and Asuka watch Victory Gundam!
Also Vinland Saga, and Orb: The Movements of the Earth
At first I thought it was a quirky high-school romance. Then they started using quantum science to explain the effects of trauma and emotional baggage. Some episodes need a whiteboard to follow but when it becomes clear some of it hits like hard.
