what anime’s should i try watching if im new to it?

Hi sxtrxtacc, it seems like you might be looking for new anime to watch!

The users of this subreddit came up with [a chart of anime recommendations for newcomers and veterans](https://i.redd.it/0w1v880jtq661.png) and [an awesome longer flowchart](https://i.redd.it/vdzlkodz19c71.png). Maybe you can find something there that you'll like \^.\^

You might also find our [Recommendation Wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/wiki/recommendations) or [daily thread](/r/anime/search?q=flair%3Adaily&restrict_sr=on&sort=new&t=week) helpful.

It's quite a bit different from the shows you have already watched with it most closely sharing the optimism of MHA, but I highly recommend Frieren as it is one of the few anime this decade which I have been recommending to even my non anime watching mates. Also the second season is currently airing.

If you're new to anime, some classics like Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, Trigun would be good to add to the list.

Welcome to the weeb side.

There's too much anime really, just be sure to avoid what people describe as "garbage"

Newbies tend to love "Dandadan" (amazing anime btw)

If you want to watch ridiculous comedy and a pinch of rule of cool, try out "Tojima Wants to be a Kamen Rider".

If you want edgy "Dark Souls", watch "Made in Abyss".

Again, there is too much to catch up on, so relax and watch at your own pace.

Honestly you would probably like most popular Shonen. Try aot or jjk.

On a less serious note try tapioki's original sin it's very lighthearted and fun but also pretty short so it's not a big investment

As I don't know your preference, I'm suggesting some shows I've enjoyed. It's easiest to watch shows from genres you enjoy. I've included  MyAnimeList links so you can read the summary and reviews to see if any of these interest you. Not all of the shows I listed are easy to find legally any more however.

First, ask yourself what genre of movies or stories you like in the first place.

Then just look for anime in that genre.

If you have hobbies or a specific sport you like.
Search for an anime about that sport of hobby.

Since there will be an anime for anything that you can think of.

Like they literally have an anime about laundry.

Mob psycho is one of my favorites. It's about a middle schooler in a world where people have psychic powers, but unlike other shows like mha, these people are still rare, and so people find the main character to be more interesting when they learn this about him. The main character however thinks having powers doesn't make you special and that people should use the for good and not for selfish reasons, also he's a loner because every thinks he's distant and boring until they learn about his powers. He has a mentor who is a psychic, except he's just a con artist who pretends to exorcize curses and spirits that people come across. It's one of those shows where the main character befriends a lot of villains who then become major characters
