I need recommendations BADLY.

as the title suggests. I preferably would like a series not a movie, a long series. Can be of any genre it just has to be (in your opinion) BINGE WORTHY! After watching Frieren, I just can’t find any other that meets the standards i’ve subconsciously put

In terms of fantasy I consider Frieren and Re:Zero the peak of their genre. There are plenty of episodes with another coming out this year and the character suspense moments always have me at the edge of my seat. I watched S1EP1 ten years ago when it first aired, and I still remember how I made all my mates watch it at the end. You will be in for a wild ride.

Golden Kamuy or Ghost in the Shell.

I actually recommend AGAINST watching anything comparable to whatever you're currently absolutely in love with. When you're feeling that way, you said it yourself, you've got subconscious standards at the moment, and literally nothing will beat those if you can even kind of compare them lol.

Go watch Nichijou, it's an excellent plotless comedy by KyoAni, and by the time you're done with it, you'll have most likely cooled down over Frieren a bit haha

I figure the best way to get over loving something so damn much, is to just give it time, don't try to match it haha, Nichijou is an excellent show, but for almost completely different reasons to something like Frieren, other than sheer animation quality, I guess.

GreatLife23782026-01-18 07:34

wait you might be onto something, AND YES I LOVE NICHIJOU! THANK YOUU SO MUCH!

Fanceepance2026-01-18 07:36

OH have you seen it already? I have a few other recs that can sorta fit into the same idea haha

GreatLife23782026-01-18 07:40

if you can, would you like to recommend me some more???

Fanceepance2026-01-18 08:55

Space Dandy (the dub specifically. A little more plot to this one, but still nothing like Frieren

Asobi Asobase

Ghost Stories (Again, the dub, seriously this time lol. The dub script is COMPLETELY different and it is GOLD.

‘Against watching anything really good’

Suggests one of the most beloved comedies in anime history

Fanceepance2026-01-18 11:29

Err, sorry, not what I meant at all lol, I fukkin love Nichijou, kinda worded that terribly.

I MEANT like... rather than trying to watch something else "really good" in the way that something with like, an actual plot and story goes, is kinda different to how something like Nichijou works.

You can certainly havw a fondness and appreciation for the characters, but I wouldn't say it's the foremost point of the show, whereas something like Frieren, yeah, that's a character driven story show.

I'ma go reword that to not be shit now LOL

Some longer running anime I'd recommend are Hunter X Hunter and Mob Psycho 100. They're a different genre but I think they're broadly enjoyable!

GreatLife23782026-01-18 08:26

sadly i’ve already watched them but I might rewatch Mob!

MusubiKazesaru2026-01-18 08:10

Seirei no Moribito

Gankutsuou

Hajime no Ippo

Uchuu Kyoudai

Kiseijuu

Twelve Kingdoms

Yu-Gi-Oh!

Beneficial_Law_2862026-01-18 08:21

Full Metal Alchemist, Jujutsu Kaisen. "Bleach" is fairly good over all and long as.

abandoned_idol2026-01-18 16:24

I guess you either already watched "Dungeon Meshi" or are looking for a story centered around either melancholy or grief.

Maybe "The Summer When Hikaru Died"?
