I'm so excited.
Season 1 was amazing and i hope the series continues to be so
ParticularSimple8892026-01-18 10:32
shame how underrated and underwatched this peak is
lztsrts2026-01-18 16:01
>underrated
One of the reasons i rated this so highly and even gave it a chance in the first place was that it was not set in a god damn school, we got enough of that already.
Hopefully they use it to explore the characters more deeply and we still get bits of the world building they set up in S1.
I'm dropping it immediately if i see any hint of a "culture festival".
This PV is very dissapointing.
Mr_Zaroc2026-01-19 00:42
Be the change you want to see.
I miss the "old" days when you only found the good stuff through random comments fighting it out which show was better while accusing everyone who disagreed of "having shit taste".
I don't like the aggression, people were more passionate I feel like
So just keep telling everyone how great it, even if its barely related.
On that note, you should really watch Sora no Woto.
And I am only half kidding about everything
ParticularSimple8892026-01-19 06:14
sybau
Mr_Zaroc2026-01-19 08:27
That's the spirit, kinda
thebohster2026-01-18 10:57
God damn that is fast.
KHlover2026-01-18 11:07
Hope Mayu Maeshima will be back for the OP
notanfan2026-01-18 11:09
when is it comming out>?
a_sleepless_koala2026-01-18 11:33
according to the YT description, it is scheduled for July this year.
notanfan2026-01-18 12:08
wow thats fast
Etiennera2026-01-18 12:20
Too fast. I wonder if it was always 2 cours but they didn't announce it in case they would scrap it if reception was lukewarm.
CommanderZx22026-01-18 11:17
Not sure what to think about a school arc in this story.
DarkAngel66692026-01-18 21:09
Don't worry, it's more like a "school" arc; it's just the place where things will happen ;)
WorldArcher12452026-01-18 11:20
Yuri anime?
raevnos2026-01-18 11:44
No.
toadfan642026-01-18 11:34
Did I see that right that it’s coming this year?
2026 is looking to be insanely stacked with some great sequels
GaryTheRetard2026-01-18 12:01
This is like an hidden gem, anime. 100% worth watching.
Absolutely top 5 anime 2025
MonkMew2026-01-18 12:14
This or sentenced 2b a hero
Mysterious-Rate-32532026-01-18 12:43
Sentenced to be a hero first episode alone cleared this, but this is a really good underrated one from last year. Really love the old school art style with modern animation. Really excited for season 2.
Rotorscope2026-01-18 19:26
Clevatess has the better first episode imo. Sentenced to be a Hero has grander production but the twists and turns in Clevatess episode 1 make it a lot more interesting imo. (Both are great tho)
Emi_Ibarazakiii2026-01-18 23:47
>Sentenced to be a Hero has grander production
And that's all it had imho (hot take, I know).
Clevatess was my AOTS contender after 1 episode.
STBAH was a drop after 1 episode.
WeeziMonkey2026-01-18 13:10
Why not both?
AdUnfair5582026-01-18 12:14
Ok this looks cool. When I think of anime it’s something like this. I got to check into season 1.
Kirbyundertale2026-01-18 12:33
love to see more of Naie, she was hilarious in the 1st season lol
Queue_Jumping_Quack2026-01-18 12:33
No translated subs, so can't tell whats going on but I'm guardedly optimistic since I really liked the first season: one of the bigger positive surprises of new anime I watched last year. But the school setting... ehhhhhhhhhhh.
I think I'll just choose to remain optimistic for now and trust that it will remain a dark fantasy and not get mired in slice of life high school shenanigans. At least the PV looked fairly action packed.
fuji-no-hana2026-01-18 12:47
My sentiments exactly.
I thought for sure that the setting was going to be in the castle and we were going to get political intrigue. This feels like tonal whiplash after S1.
YellowAppleCinema2026-01-18 13:35
It wouldnt surprise me if it goes either way.
Seems to happen every time.
A new manga gets popular because it does something really unique and special attracting a fanbase, but then it gets more popular, and the author removes all the elements that made it unique and special in order to appeal to a wider audience, and by doing so, no longer appealing to any audience.
And then the cherry on top is when the manga that was meant to go for 1 year has its story stretched to last 10 years, and it ends with an extremely suddenly rushed ending, because after 10 years the author got tired and bored
Ill_Act_18552026-01-18 15:49
As a manga reader, I'll say the reason they're at the school at all is very much rooted in political intrigue and there is absolutely not a shortage of it in this arc. This arc is fantastic, and honestly I liked it better than the S1 stuff when all was said and done
Endranii2026-01-18 13:52
As a manga reader I think that you don't have to worry about it. As it's not really what one would think of school arc, but rather just one placed inside one for lore reason that are gonna quickly make sense. And one that's pretty fast to escalate while bringing in massive lore drops about the world itself.
And ngl, I really liked the end of arc reveals in it.
KingSammyJ12026-01-18 13:54
why do people hate school settings so much? it is such a great way to get fun character interactions
fuji-no-hana2026-01-18 17:37
Mostly because school settings are often over-reliant on tropes and very predictable. No matter how fantastical the world is meant to be, the schools themselves all feel the same and are usually populated with the same stock characters.
The only time a school setting has ever really impressed me was Gin no Saji, and that was mostly because Hiromu Arakawa is a brilliant writer.
KingSammyJ12026-01-18 20:36
fair
maybe I just like those tropes I guess
dhwbsidjens2026-01-18 18:08
They’re too common and predictable. Going back to that setting is even worse for a fantasy show like this, when there’s much more interesting places to be than a school
Galinhooo2026-01-18 13:55
[Manga] >!It doesn't go to the school life route, it remains dark fantasy!<
spubbbba2026-01-19 19:39
> But the school setting... ehhhhhhhhhhh.
I'm a bit worried as well.
The Ancient Magus Bride, Moolit Fantasy and Mushoku tensei all had first seasons I really enjoyed, followed up by far inferior second seasons. With the weakest part of those seasons being the parts in a magic school.
Also haven't really enjoyed many anime that are set entirely in magic schools either. Mashle was probably the best, but it got a bit repetitive.
2000shadow20002026-01-18 13:05
Season 1 was great, can't wait
PaintOptimal21982026-01-18 14:01
no eyepatch? illusion cos she is at school?
Whendfield1232026-01-18 14:19
Naie looks like the comic relief character here. It will be nice to see Hero Alicia and Klen again.
Looks like this and mushoku tensei will air in the same season. Im looking forward to it
djthomp2026-01-18 14:25
Very convenient that they'll still have the pink twintails on hand for transportation duties.
Mr_Zaroc2026-01-19 00:44
As long as we get more angry Kumiko noises I am all for it.
Her and bashful Alicia is gonna be promising.
Can't wait for Clev to hire her as their personal taxi service
TheBatemanFlex2026-01-18 15:23
I really enjoyed season 1. Did I miss something in it that hinted that they would be…going to school?
kabutozero2026-01-18 15:36
Dunno. Maybe you didn't watch the last episode fully ?
Yesshua2026-01-18 15:48
Not a manga reader so this is only speculation:
Clevatess wants to learn about human magic. At the end of season 1 he got the queen to agree to appoint him as the prince's magic teacher.
Prince is too young to start learning magic since he's still pooping diapers, and Clevatess can't teach any magic because he doesn't know how it works. Solution? Spend the next stretch of time undercover at the local magic academy.
So it's a weird left turn, but within the logic of the the character motivations and obligations I don't see this as out of line.
Ill_Act_18552026-01-18 15:50
it'll be explained at the start of next season
agr852026-01-18 15:42
Did that say July 2026? Wow I didnt think we'd be getting S2 so soon. Very exciting!
barktwiggs2026-01-18 15:45
Sweet. GrimDark Harry Potter.
Yesshua2026-01-18 15:49
The most important shot in this trailer was Alicia (presumably unable to use magic) beating the hell out of something with a magic staff until the staff shatters.
WetRocksManatee2026-01-19 15:38
"Magically BEATING!" - Mash... errr I mean Alicia
Lola_PopBBae2026-01-19 23:14
We love our angry terrifying blonde
Oleleplop2026-01-18 15:49
Season 1 was a huge surprise for me. I didn't expect it to be this good.
Jauretche2026-01-18 16:16
It looks like Alicia still can't get a break.
SeparateElephant39952026-01-18 23:02
the best
Next_Package_57102026-01-18 23:25
does nobody question why this dude has a horn?
LostPenitent2026-01-19 09:51
Horned humanoids are not out of the ordinary in their world.
Next_Package_57102026-01-20 01:50
Is that in the manga because I dont recall seeing any other non demons with horns...
LostPenitent2026-01-20 05:48
There is an entire race of horned humanoids that were mentioned in Season 1.
Emi_Ibarazakiii2026-01-18 23:48
Somehow I thought the new look would only last a short time before back to normal, but (unless it's misleading) seems she'll keep it a long time!
Thanatos-2026-01-19 00:03
Really liked the first season but Magic School holds no interest for me.
Mr_Zaroc2026-01-19 00:37
Bashful Alicia? Fucking sold.
On top we get more ~~Kumiko~~ **Metal bender** girl.
Normally not a huge fan of school arcs, but that seems pretty promising
chum-guzzling-shark2026-01-19 01:20
i dont understand why Japan is obsessed with high school and how even a grim dark anime has to shoe horn it in. but the first season was amazing so all I can do is trust
warjoke2026-01-19 01:55
They took the carriage girl with them to school lmao. And Alicia with a dog nose is a cutie. Clevatess knows what he was doing.
wikid242026-01-19 05:14
Oh great it's a fucking highschool arc 👎
middleupperdog2026-01-19 12:34
It makes zero sense for this story to go into a school arc. This makes me extremely skeptical that season 2 can live up to season 1.
teerre2026-01-19 16:50
Season 1 was pretty good, but this school setting isn't inspiring confidence. Hopefully it's just a small part of it and won't be become another generic "high school but its fantasy" shit
