is there a difference in sound when watching anime from pirated websites

is there a difference in sound when watching anime from pirated website compare to legit one like crunchyroll? because my tv has sound system that can even pickup a tiny bit of detail in sound. I don't really mind when watching normal anime like romance or etc but when it comes to anime like aot, demon slayer, chainsaw man, frieren, I really want the sound to be the best as possible

Torrenting is still illegal in many countries and can results in problems in some of them for OP, I do not recommend suggesting it so easily.

Sincerely, this type of discussion goes better on a piracy subreddit instead.

It's probably different everywhere. Depends on the encoding and the player.

Sometimes even the same website has different sound qualities. Crunchyroll alone has a good audio track for good connections and a bad audio track for bad connections.

Pirate sources are usually just downloading the video from cr or netflix so they will be identical at best. If you have an expensive enough sound system for your TV for it to make a difference you can probably afford to pay a subscription though

For currently airing shows, there shouldn't be a difference since the files they are getting are already compressed for streaming.

For older shows that have blu rays out, there can be a difference if the site decides to stream a higher quality source than web rips, but I doubt anyone bothers doing that.

In general, if you care about sound quality, download remuxes or encodes that didn't touch the sound (will usually be labeled as flac).
