its been 10 years. What's your opinion about [Shumatsu no Izetta]? I think for original Yuri drama anime it has never been surpassed since then.

I know that when Izetta was aired ten years ago, it received a lot of criticism and wasn't very famous. In recent years, many well-known and commercially successful original yuri drama anime have emerged such as lycoris recoil、G-witch etc. But I feel that with each new original yuri drama anime comes out, the plot and character development of Izetta seem even more rare and precious. as a serious drama, Izetta's level of plot and character logic is far better than that of the most original drama anime in recent years. Although it received much criticism ten years ago, nowadays the plot quality of many original anime is so poor that it makes the level of Izetta stand out even more. I always feel It's a pity that Izetta was born in the wrong time. If it come out in 2026, it would have become a paragon for original yuri drama anime.

Appreciate ya, the picture did jog a memory. And I remember this show not being good, and dropping it

Loved it when it came out due to being quite a unique blend of magic with alternative history WW2, but yeah in the end it didn't stick the landing that well, and hence was forgotten.

Yeah, toward the end they tried to stuff a few too many things into the story and it became messy and rushed, and maybe a little silly in its excess.

I did buy [Izetta's Nendoroid](https://myfigurecollection.net/picture/3191342), so points for the marketing there, but nothing from the array of slightly-rebadged WWII plamo.

I enjoyed it, but many people seemed to notice a decline after a silver-haired, overpowered girl appeared, which was coincidentally the same as in Terror in Resonance.

I liked it at the start but the story became quite predictable and forgettable. As far as anime about red headed witches go, I definitely like Gundam The Witch from Mercury a lot more, though I will admit it also had issues sticking the landing.

S1 finale of WfM was definitely one of the biggest wtfs of the year.

I remember liking the shows premise and 'vibe', for the lack of a better word. Plus a magical girl riding an anti tank rifle like a broom just goes hard.

I don't remember much of the plot, though. It's been a long time.

I did watch it but I haven’t thought about it since then or remember enough details about anything that happened. I guess it didn’t leave a mark on me

its misery porn, and i can't stand that genre

gorambrowncoat2026-01-18 18:25

I liked the world building. The story was okay but nothing special. Can't say I remember it strongly but I do remember enjoying it well enough at the time. I don't think it would be exceptionally more well regarded today but who is to say.

Wanted to like it, went into it with the right mindset, and hated and dropped it within a few episodes.

a strong 6 point something show, it's fine

Pinky_Boy2026-01-20 07:50

I was told that wargaming, yes, that WarGaming, would be involved in the production

Saw some french tank and graf zeppelin. I was expecting more

On the story side, nothing too notable i'd say
