Depends on what kind of fiction you like. Anime isn't a genre of media, it's pretty much it's own medium, so you can find stories of all types told in anime.
No-Chapter-9302026-01-18 17:21
ill take any type actually. im trying to explore diffrent genres
N7CombatWombat2026-01-18 17:27
Here's some older titles that most people consider classics:
Cowboy Bebop
Black Lagoon
Ghost in the shell (1996 movie)
Ghost in the shell: Stand Alone Complex (series)
Redline (movie)
Evangelion
Akira (movie)
Trigun (original and has a remake as well, second season of the remake is airing now)
Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
And here are some newer, popular, ones:
Frieren
Attack on Titan
Solo Leveling
Demon Slayer
No-Chapter-9302026-01-18 17:28
bet im watching all of these tysm
abandoned_idol2026-01-18 17:42
I'll stick to personal favorites of mine.
If you happen to be a fan of western high fantasy (particularly the fantasy race archetypes, and the more infrequent monsters), I'd recommend **"Dungeon Meshi"**. You might get a different impression at first, but note that it is a highly regarded anime.
If you like an immersive soundtrack that swallows you whole and don't mind a more childish Lovecraftian premise, **"Made in Abyss"** is a fun adventure. Features edgy action and fun/friendly character interactions.
**"Medalist"** if you have ever felt insecure in your life and want to feel empowered/supported. Episode 1 is a cathartic blast.
I consider all of these low hanging fruit, and of course there are many more for you to discover. Don't rush yourself to watch all anime there is to find (you'll never catch up regardless).
No-Chapter-9302026-01-18 18:02

Roketsu862026-01-18 17:25
Anime doesn't have any skill checks, it's not the Souls-like of animation. Find something with a synopsis that sounds interesting or ask for recommendations by providing examples of other stories you enjoy
