looking for romance-leaning recommendations!! (Or not..)
honestly i don't mind if the genre leans more towards romcom/slice of life, or something deeper/darker/heavier and complex. romance also doesn't necessarily have to be the main plot! honestly now that i think about it.. feel free to give me recs outside of this genre as well...
i liked:
* the apothecary diaries
* skip and loafer
* blue box
* tomo-chan is a girl
* my love story with yamada kun at level999
* 7th time loop
* spyxfamily
i didn't like:
* your lie in april (too shallow and dramatic)
* the fragrant flower blooms with dignity (not a fan of the fmc)
* violet evergarden (age gap...)
* my happy marriage (too underdeveloped)
* snow white with the red hair (dragged)
neutral about lovely complex, a sign of affection, and horimiya.
other favourites for further context: aot, jjk, frieren, csm, saiki k, nana, fullmetal alchemist, haikyuu 😊

Romance is not the main thing, but it's definitely brewing under all the bullshit they go through.
Yano-kun's Ordinary Days: rom com/slice of life with some lighthearted vibes kinda like Skip and Loafer
**War on Geminar**
**Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai**
**Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World**
My Dress-Up Darling
Wotakoi
Tamon kun's B-Side is airing and I've found it very funny.
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki kun
The Dangers in My Heart
Oshi ko no. Peak but trash ending and hopefully the anime fix it
The quintessential quintuplets.
Rent a girlfriend. It's trash and painful but good
The romance is not the main plot, but it’s so well done. The story lures you in with being all cute and fun at the start, but then gets pretty deep and dark.
>the apothecary diaries
Raven of the Inner Palace
>spyxfamily
Buddy Daddies
**Romance**:
Ore Monogatari (a.k.a My love story)
Karin
Golden Time
Romance as side plot, not msin genre: Eden of the East
And my Dress Up Darling gets amazing in season 2 because it shows Marin's inner thoughts feelings and insecurities much more clearly.
それでも世界は美しい
プラスティック・メモリーズ
2.5次元の誘惑
可愛いだけじゃない式守さん
負けヒロインが多すぎる
トニカクカワイイ
それでも歩は寄せてくる
僕の心のヤバいやつ
