Just watched Soul society arc of bleach...

And i can say this is the most perfect and balanced arc i've ever seen
Everything was sooo perfect
The settings, character development, powerups, Explanations of a system or power

And in the Second arc of the series, we got a bigger plot twist...Aizen in the end was PEAKKKKKKKKKK

I wanna say if someone is gonna write a story, he should first watch this arc...Writing of this arc was so balanced that makes PEAK

Yeah it’s definitely peak Bleach. I turned Toonami on as a kid and instantly fell in with anime and the soul society arc was what caught me first

I will say as much as I love Kubo, his writing style does get repetitive and he over uses some tropes in further arcs. It’s still entertaining but you’ll often notice issues compared to the writing/world building of other long running shonen

Still not much tops when Ichigo unleashes his Bandai for the first time and you hear the music rise up

I would say don't worry about it and make that judgement for yourself. Just skip the filler arcs by following a site like this https://www.animefillerguide.com/anime/bleach/

(don't read the episode names until you're at said episode, spoilers y'know)

That’s the only filler arc I’d personally consider watching. The others are absolutely terrible.

Yeah Zanpakuto rebellion is the best of the fillers to the point of being an actually good arc.

The problem is it starts during one of the climaxes of a canon arc so you'll have to figure out if you're ok with that interruption or just watch it after you're fully caught up or something.

It’s still a worthwhile ride I don’t want to dissuade you. I can’t specify without spoilers so enjoy the ride, every long running story is eventually gonna hit similar beats I was just referring to what a lot of the bleach community would consider Kubo’s speciality for characters and story structure. He loves hierarchal rouges galleries and often uses damsels in distress as motivations, which aren’t a problem just noticeable

Still a great ride, look up and skip most filler besides the one where the Zampachto (spelling apologies) spirits come alive cause that one is awesome. Come let us know what you think once you’re further in!

One Piece is way less repetitive than Bleach. Kubo only got it right one time with Soul Society and from then on he keeps making the same arc but worse.

I'm mostly reading One Piece actually. Still, Bleach only has one genuinely great arc and even there OP still has like 10 that are better than it. Naruto would be a more even comparison to Bleach of the Big 3 and even that is utterly superior overall.

People will swear One Piece isn’t repetitive because of the unique characters, settings and powers in each arc. And to their defense, those things are always fresh. What *IS* repetitive is the writing that surrounds all of those things. The gang splitting up, fighting their own little battles, luffy fighting the big bad, everyone almost losing 20 times to finally pull the big win miraculously and then everyone and their mother that was in the arc instantly reveres them and they have a feast about it. That’s just the baseline repetitive stuff too; there’s plenty more.

The parts of OP that aren’t repetitive are what make it great but good luck actually having a civilized conversation about its glaring flaws (manga OR anime) without getting downvoted into the abyss.

I definitely encourage skipping the bount arc but the only annoying thing is some characters they created for that arc carry forward into the rest of the show. They aren't super important characters but it's still annoying.

Lucky you. You have so much peak to enjoy. I wish I still had one of the biggest anime ever to watch with multiple large seasons of content to binge. Maybe when I get old I will develop memory problems and be able to experience watching Bleach again as if it's for the first time.

I feel that if Bleach had ended at the natural conclusion it was approaching at the end of the Soul Society arc, it would be a heavy contender in the GOAT discussion. While still fun, it is only downhill from there.

Bleach episode 1 is one of my favourite openings of a long-running series.

The creepy black white first scene, amazing music, banger opening track, sets the stage perfectly for what's to come and a soothing ending track.
