Are you wanting a specific vibe or simply anything that’s not mainstream?

I enjoy animes that are adventurous and mysterious. Ofc there's the good psychological shows here and there, but I want animes that will keep me invested the entire time. Filler episodes just ruin the magic for me 🤷🏼♂️

Made in Abyss is a really good show. It is a scifi/fantasy type adventure. The world is really bright and beautiful but as the main characters try to uncover mysteries about The Abyss, things get darker.

"Dungeon Meshi" is a must watch, often compared to Frieren for good reason.
"Made in Abyss" is a fun, albeit edgy, adventure. Amazing orchestral soundtrack to aid your immersion.
"Shadow House" is mysterious, but seems shallow at first glance.

Try Mushishi, Ergo Proxy, Sonny Boy, or Haibane Renmei. They’re slower and more atmospheric than mainstream shows, but really memorable if you like thoughtful stories.
